Removed a 40-45' cedar tree that was giving me problems close to the house. Climbed the ladder and connected the winch and then got back a safe distance and pulled severe tension on it as I incrementally cut on it going back and forth to ensure tension was pulling it away from the house.

Took the 2017 P5 out for the inaugural ride on some nearby logging roads. I'm on Vancouver Island (British Columbia) and there are unlimited roads and trails everywhere... Drove 23 kms on some rougher, narrower trails than shown in the image. I don't think the Honda dealer will be taking the rig back now, 'cuz it's been pin-striped by the bush. Didn't dive into any of the creek crossings because the approaches were super steep and I don't have the winch installed yet.

She didn't say 'no' when I floated getting a P5. I bought one the next day.

I track the rides on my Garmin. It's very easy to get turned around on the myriad of trails and I don't like getting lost.

2016 12 03 Timberlands P500 elevation

We did some good elevation gains. Started at +5 degrees Celcius and climbed to well below 0C (freezing) and were into abit of snow. The rig is no rocket but handled the climbs like a goat. The best part was that momma came along.

Welcome to the forum Air! Nice looking rig, did you buy it like that or have you been accessorizing already?

Hey:
I bought the basic rig and have been adding stuff: roof, wind deflector (the short windscreen), front & rear bumpers, front and rear a-arm guards, under-hood & under-seat storage bins & accessory wiring harness. All that was Honda gear. I had 26" ITP MudLite XTRs (9" front & 11" rear) on a quad, which I switched onto the P5 original rims. I've ordered the Superwinch 3500S & KFI mount. Also ordered 20" & 32" LED light bars (can't decide which to mount, so might do both). Put on the Kolpin rear view mirrors. Rear LED work lights & some sort of rifle clamps to follow. Ordered some RAM mounts which I'll screw on to the dash for GPS & camera. I'm not decided on what kind of box to put on the rack. The box may change with the mission. I also ordered 4 Honda cam clamps to rig up a taller wind screen. I find the wind deflector abit short for winter riding. Lotsa fun. Al R

Sounds great. You might consider nut and bolt for those Ram Mounts.

Nice looking machine AlR and welcome to the club.
Riding is always more fun when you have your partner in crime with you. :)

Holy smokes people were right. Finding top dead center for adjusting the valves was not easy. Both my intake and exhaust were tight.

While changing the oil, I thought it was suspect finding some rtv on the pilot filter cover. Come to find it was a lazy fix to a damaged O-ring. Grrrrr

I take it your from Wisconsin
See the register sticker
What kind of cab set up? Did it steam up any?
Yes I'm from southwest Wisconsin. The cab is Honda tip out full winsheild, honda roof, Honda doors, kolpin hard coat full rear panel, I used some 2x2 foam to help seal bigger gaps, no heater yet. I have not had issues with fogging. The doors leak enough air to keep it clear.

You need a strongmade bumper and winch on that bad boy!

That's on the list! My windshield should be in this week. Then when I get a winch I'm going to get the strongmade bumper for it

Are all the seat covers so the cat has a warm, comfortable place to sit?
