Secure your load for the worst case scenario and it will always be there even upside down in the median after an expressway speed rollover.Question about hauling our 520: is putting a logging chain securing the load from shifting forward at a quick stop sufficient? I see many folks use tie down straps at all four corners. We will not be traveling more than a few miles to dealership or Osceola Nat'l Forest. Thanks in advance.

We currently tow our P700 on a 6.5x13 trailer, switching between a Honda Pilot and a F150. Both handle the trailer pretty well.I am currently using my 2007 Honda Odyssey and a 2019 Carry-on 6’x8’ single axle trailer to haul my P500. I get about 22 mpg just driving my van but when towing drop down to anywhere from 10–13 mpg. What is everyone else using and what kind of mileage are you getting both just driving and when hauling your buggy? Can a P500 fit in a 6 1/2’ bed with the tailgate down?
You can. Just mash the gas pedal.I'd love to get 22 mph even without towing.

Chains and binders vs straps is a preference of longevity vs price IMHO.
You got me curious about the weight of my trailer. I looked up my model on the factory’s website. Stock it is 725 lbs. I added a spare tire and gorilla tailgate lift assist. That should put it about 800 lbs. my 2015 P500 with full fuel is designated at 1010 lbs. plus accessories etc that should be about 1100 lbs so total tow weight of 1900 lbs.We currently tow our P700 on a 6.5x13 trailer, switching between a Honda Pilot and a F150. Your mileage offset with/without sounds about right, but yeah, the Ody really isn't made for towing. It's rated for 3500 lbs, but having owned two of them (07 and 13), having your ~2000 lbs of trailer and P500 plus whatever gear you add would really be pushing the limit of what I'd want to do with one.

That's about right. My Trailer holds 3000 lbs, p5 with everything is approx 1200-1300lbs. Trailer weight is 1000 lbs.You got me curious about the weight of my trailer. Yes 5.7 L^^^^^
Same experience with my 2019 Tundra (5.7L). Hook ‘any’ trailer up….13 mpg.

I remember when I was young my dad told meYou can. Just mash the gas pedal.
well said and to the point - all I know is the truck is smart enough to tell me I have a trailer attached 10% of the time hauling a sxs, atv, stone, mulch, firewood - I just know I’ll be stopping to put more gasoline in the tankBeing 77 yrs old, I still see things and say to myself..."Oooo I need one of those!!". Otherwise I would not have bought our new 520. My blood supply rushes to areas of my body, leaving too little for my practical side. Only now it's not when I look at a beautiful woman anymore. I do have it mostly (well) under control compared to my youth.
So I am gonna suggest some things many of you young bucks might not like. As for mpg, unless you tow something really heavy, you do not need a diesel. Says the man who has had 3 diesels. If already have a diesel you probably intentionally did not figure how many miles you would have to drive to make up the difference in price of a diesel. Might be several times around the earth. And if you are thinking about saving money buying a smaller more fuel efficient truck, etc. you prolly don't wanna hear how far you would have to tow whatever in order to make up the cost of the fuel efficient truck. tags, taxes, insurance, maintenance and so much more. I get it! You wanna buy something! I won't snitch.
