It's time for my p520 to have its 1800 mile check and lube. I was quoted $932.00 for this service by the dealer. My acura mdx doesn't cost $200 for this service. How is this possible?
They're gouging IMO. There are no grease zerks. Change the oil and air filter. I'd change the differential gear oil while you're at it, 75/140 especially for your climate. No need to check valve clearance unless it's running bad. Mine is a '15 and I've never checked the valve clearance. It's time for my p520 to have its 1800 mile check and lube. I just ordered the filters, oil, lube, spark plug and gap gauge on amazon for $75.00. I saved $850 doing it myself. I asked a second dealer and he wants 2k up front for the next 4 services. There you go. Mine hasn't seen a dealer since the day I bought it. Way cheaper and you know it'll be done right.I just ordered the filters, oil, lube, spark plug and gap gauge on amazon for $75.00. What about valve adjustment on a new head on a 16 P1 w/ 4,500 miles? I believe they have shims?Every screw type valve adjustment engine I've serviced has needed the valves adjusted at the initial 100 miles serviced and usually every other one after.
Just because it's running doesn't mean it's right .

Thanks, I wish Fairfield was close. The Intakes are shims, exhaust are still screw adjusters.
Every 1000 engine I've inspected at the 1st service has needed exhaust adjustment. I think the factory may not be getting them as tight as they need to tbh.
