Decided to add a set of Rhino wheel chocks to the Cargo trailer. Have a set for the rear but figured one set in the front would be enough with the rear secured. Replaced garbage hardware with stainless 5/16", rather than the M6 or 1/4" soft garbage that comes with the kit...back to work.

Got my trailer deck finished. Coated in a super grippy covering designed for wood decks. Has a bedliner finish to it. Then built a rack to hold my gas cans and finished it in the same coating.

Unfortunately a lot of the places I go (particularly hunting) are so remote it might be 100 miles to the nearest gas station.

I also tow with a gas pickup, so it's nothing for me to burn through many gas cans in a week.

Gets expensive. :(

Get a PNC Bank Cash Rewards Visa card. Earn 4% cash back on all gas/diesel purchases (anywhere), up to $8K of purchases per year ($320). If you burn more than that, get a second card in the wife's name. Follow this link and apply and get an additional $200 bonus if you make at least $1K in purchases in the first 3 months (must be an existing PNC Bank customer for the extra $200).

EDIT: Looks like you now have to be an existing PNC Bank customer to get the card, not just for the bonus.

Pentagon Federal Credit Union offers a Platnium Visa that gives you 5% back on gas/diesel, as well as 3% off @ supermarkets (including those like Walmart). You have to join (open savings account with only $5). If you spend $1,500 in the first 90 days, you get an extra 15,000 points (each point is worth about 1 cent, so $150).

@Dirtstiffs-1000 , Some very nice looking work there!

That said, I'd be concerned in the unlikely event of a high energy accident. Kind of a PO'er trailer manufacturer's would stoop to save maybe 40% over plywood cost by using OSB. That, and then installing the deck with self drilling screws to the thin sheet metal lateral supports. You've used good backing plates, but those may pulling through that OSB, if it doesn't just pull out or shear sheet metal screws.

I'm no mechanical engineer but in a 30 mph barrier crash, there's 30 G's to deal with. The Honda SXS is gonna exert up to 57,000 pounds on whatever is restraining it. Of course that's a 30 mph worst case, but no matter, the forces involved in even relatively minor accidents can be astonishing.

Had to do some work on the LE today
The wife called me the day I left for the Overland and said the Pioneer wouldn't start!!!!
So I got a chance to look at it last night after work. Found the engine would turnover but not fire. Tried a small shot of starting fluid and I fired right away!!! So I started looking into the fuel system. I had just dumped 5 gallons of gas before I left. The fuel was s***!!!! Only about a month old in a can we always use. Siphoned out the bad fuel and cleaned the fuel lines. Fired up first try.
Also since I got the new Talon R4 the LE will be turned into the ranch rig. Removed the rear ROPs and roof. Reinstalled original seat belts and power washed top to bottom.

So if anyone has a 3 set top, rear hard back im in the market.

My pioneer LE is finicky with aging fuel, too.
And, it definately doesn't like non ethonal, premium gas either. I bought a hundred - 50 gallons bulk, put 5 in the Pioneer and it immediately backfired, didnt want to run , sputtered and got hot.
Drained refilled, never a problem afterward.
Dig your new Talon, BTW.

Thx. I have the jack and the SATV tire carrier. Just need the mounts.

Gotta be a little heavy on those bushings with a tire & jack on there, but the Pioneer is now my work ride with the recent acquisition of the Talon, so ...

Not to feel neglected with the Talon getting most of my recent attention, Piney got a solid washing today.

Also had to move the mounts for the whips to better accommodate the SATV tire carrier and to allow the dump bed to fully open. I wanted to keep them below the roofline, but that's not an option with the other accessories I've got mounted to the ROPS back there.

Finally, I adjusted the rear diff linkage, as she was having a hard time going into turf mode and was clanking a little bit when I did shift the diff lever and take off. Now it goes into turf mode instantly and nomo clank.

This was the before pic. Forgot the after pic, but it is now much closer to factory setup (alignment marks) and shifts great.

I bought some tire chains recently and got them test fit tonight. Some trimming required as they pretty big but I got them to a snug fit. With a single extra link I should be good if I upgrade the tire size someday.

They are v-bar chains so these are going to rip in the snow and mud!
