That’s skewed Fords MaxTow is more than Dodge and is only available with the V6....with a higher final drive (3.55vs3.92 )than the Dodge the V6 out pulls the V8 in the Ram.

If I was worried about West Coast Numbers like fuel economy I’d be driving a Prius. ;)

I spent some time last night making more comparisons between the Ford and Ram and equally equipped on paper the Ford beat the Ram in power, price, usable features, and payload/tow and unloaded fuel economy.

Hey, I didn’t write the article ;) I just haven’t found any review on the interweb that doesn’t have Ram rated as the best all around truck ;) Now if you’re only talking about it from a highest rated tow number perspective, then yes you can get an F150 with a higher tow rating, but that doesn’t make it an equivalent all around vehicle as the Ram. Also, if your towing anywhere near those max tow numbers regularly, you really should step up to a F250.

Just FYI, there is a lot more Rams and Tacoma on the road out here than the environmental damaging/ male emasculating Prius’s. Now if your talking Subaru, that’s a different story ;)

NorthWest Ford definitely isn’t the best seller. Cummins and Toyota are king.
Those damn lesbian rock crawlers are unbelievably common. Subaru makes up 1/8 of the cars in our shop.

If you actually watch the video and not read the bias article that was written afterwards, you will see that this was just a basic fuel economy test where they asked the manufacturers to send a truck. This is what they received and Ford won the only test they were performing that day.

Your Mopar website fabricated the rest of the article to look good for them.

I just give you the straight facts as I find them. You can interpret them anyway you like. But just FYI, in this article it states tow rating for the Ford is 13200, Ram 12750, a 450 pound difference hardly makes one a mallcrawler.

Begin rant:

Nothing more than paper numbers.

I’ve seen so many 1/2 tons trade lanes in windy western SD with a a 8000 lb camper in tow and a whole bunch of other trailer driving tow vehicle escapades. Rolled vehicles towing trailers in western SD during high winds is common. Wouldn’t even dream of towing 13k on a F150 (ecoturd or not)...not even once...ever.

Imo the last good F150 was in 2010 (minus cam phasers). I really liked my 2010 F150 FX4 5.4L with the six speed transmission. Routinely got 20 mpg empty. Towing milage sucked. Traded it on F250 diesel before it cam phasers were really known to be a problem on those motors.

The only F150s towing enclosed trailers or campers getting 15mpg are those going downhill with a 25 mph tail wind....and that may not even be enough.

My 2016 F350 with a 6.7l psd towing my EMPTY all aluminum 7x14 enclosed trailer at about 3500 lbs can’t even pull that off at 65mph. Maybe at 55 mph but doubt it. If I drive reasonable my 2016 F350 will be 18 to 19 empty (3.55 gears) my 2012 F250 PSD with 3.13 rear couldn’t muster 15 pulling an enclosed trailer either and it would get 21 to 22 empty.

Can’t stand ANY Ford anymore and I’m a dyed in the wool Ford guy. Same thing for the new Superduties. I’m not going to plunk down 80k on something that looks like it came out of the south end of a north bound horse, is incredibly uncomfortable, feels like the steering column is at my ankles, and worse yet looks like a Nintendo designed F150. I mean who the F designs your flagship towing truck with higher bed rails so that it makes it next to impossible to tow a 5th wheel or gooseneck and not crunch your box on slight off angle road transitions!!!

Won’t even consider one any more. Gonna stick with my 16 F350.. till Ford removes its head from rear which I doubt will happen soon.

I’m so done with Ford that there is a nice Mopar (2018 Durango awd blue jeans blue) in my wife’s parking spot. Comparable Ford Exploder was test driven and immediately removed from the running. The fit and finish of the Durango, ride quality, comfort and the haul tail ability wasn’t even close. Plus she doesn’t look like she’s driving a granny mobile.

Fords in trouble and it’s because guys like me have stopped drinking the koolaid.

End of rant.... phew.

Need some Tylenol now.

I’m talking #s because everyone has a subjective opinion, and we can argue opinions till we’re blue.

Not true look at the features and compare the features and MSRP for an equivalent of the other the Ford is cheaper for same features.

If I was going to buy a diesel it’d be a Ram3500 maybe a F350 SRW, not enough of a capability jump with the 250/2500.

Subaru around here is a solid stereotype and it’s not a good one. A Taco is a Legendary truck. If I had a use for a mid size there wouldn’t even be a consideration of anything else.

I didn’t get laid last night! And you don’t know if I was happy and smiling or frustrated when I typed that. You don’t have to take it in a negative way. Think of my smiling face when you read my posts.

I know it was a test determine fuel mileageo_O I just found it interesting that they used a 5.0 V8 Ford against the Ram V6 that is substantial smaller and less capable to determine fuel mileage towing 7000lbs.

And, I didn’t say anything negative about this in the original post EB boyo_O

I’m sure the two players had no idea who was sending what so they probably just found the cheapest option to get one of their closest press vehicles there. What’s even funnier is none of the other manufactures showed up to play.

Those guys all the time are hoping for vehicles that are perfectly matched as far as engines and gear ratios but they never get that.

If you had a Cummins she wouldn't even be wearing panties. Ask me how I know!
