We HAD a Ram in the work fleet. The truck felt cheap like shutting door on a Polaris. The Fords felt more solid and that’s what the whole fleet is now. There were a lot of things I liked about the Ram though, it’s a close second in my choice of truck. It’s the first in the heavy duty line. I would choose the f-150 in 1/2 ton and Ram in the 3/4 & 1 ton.

When riding with the guy that had the Ram 1500, it was a nicer ride and he got better mileage(it was 2wd). But when it came time to pull the equipment to a worksite, no one argued what brand of truck pulled the load.

Our trailer gave that Ram fits with cross winds and cornering, that was the deciding factor. It has decent power and sounds great. The EB has A LOT more low end torque that kept the gear hunting to a minimum. The Ram kept the RPMs up and shifted a lot. Neither brand has had any failures for our company trucks.

I guess I’ll just have to show up at each dealer with a 24’ enclosed with 2 Honda’s loaded up and see which truck pulls it the best.

Edit: Not the F’ing Chevy dealer.

f***ing s*** stirrers! I don’t know why y’all do that!
It’s funny with all the different makes and opinions that the Honda Ridgeline isn’t ever brought up. I guess as a red blooded straight American man that pulls anything into the woods either doesn’t consider that a truck or doesn’t want thier friends to see them in one lol.

It's a terrible shame they have some of the coolest storage options out there but damn it's ugly and a 6c too right?

Jeep has the gladiator coming this summer too for all you Fiat, I mean "dodge" guys ...

No Fiat in my trucks. I don’t think there’s much influence in the new ones either now that Ram is its own division.
We’ve had a few Fiats in the shop and I’ll tell ya those are a pos!

Just cause it has a half assed bed on it, doesn’t mean it’s a truck. It’s just a bastardized odyssey mini van.

So basically the Ram had a more luxurious interior, but lacked in most other measures?

I don't know about all the bells and whistles. At some point it's neat but it's not necessary. I have never kept up with the latest tech tho so I probably couldn't benefit anyhow.

That’s what I took from the article is that the Ram wasn’t the truck to tow with but was the truck if you wanted a mallcrawler.

I still think if you are towing >6-7k on a regular basis the 3/4-1 ton is the way to go. Towing 5500 lbs with my F150 (5.0 and 3.55 with oversized brakes, so in no way set up for towing major loads) is a bear vs towing the same load with dads 1 ton. It's not really the motor, more the way that weight "pushes" the lighter truck. You just feel way more planted in his.

As others have mentioned- mileage is comparable with a comparable load. Mileage unloaded may add up if you drive a lot tho, so that concern is understandable.

Frankly with the same 10 ply Cooper AT3 XLT on both trucks, the ride isn't all that different unloaded either IMO...
