they've figured out the problem, and designed the fix into the 2017s.

they'll never admit there's a problem, bc "class action". so it will very quietly get fixed on the 2017s.

those of us who "believed in the brand" and bought first year production will just get screwed.

I thought I saw a while back on one of the patent post that @Hondasxs posted with a moved or added oil temp or pressure sensor by the clutch.
Theres an idea. Install a temp switch to the clutch area. Have it set to turn on an idiot light on the dash at 230 or so deg. So you can back off and let things cool off for a bit

I don't think Jackal knows for sure about the 17 model not having clutch issues. A good salesperson can sell someone anything.

So is it official? @JACKAL source is blowin smoke?
Maybe we should do the scientific method - wait to see if his new 17 eats a clutch.
Of course, if it is fixed we will be waiting a long time.

Go back and read my post. I said any clutch including the DCT is 1 to 1. No slipping. Read before you post.

10-4 no problem. I guess what left me confused was when you said you didn't think the Honda Pioneer had a lockup torque converter, meaning it always slips. I now realize you were referring to the Pioneer 700 with this statement ;-)

Cool deal on the birthday. Now kids get out of school for Veteran's Day..........I sure would have loved it if that had been the case for me growing up!!!

I truly believe that if the 17 model is up to par Honda will repair the 16 models. If anyone had to pay for clutch repairs on their 16 models Honda will reimburse them.

I want to believe too, but it could be cost prohibitive, in which case we'd be on our own to sort it out. and if that's the case, I'm sure we will... this forum is very resourceful, but it would go a long way to get a straight answer and know for sure what needs to be done.

and BTW, I'm sorry for taking it so negative earlier... it just really bummed me that the fix is known and will be implemented on the 2017, but hasn't been made known to those of us who already purchased.
anywho... I still love old PioneerPete , overall a pretty good workhorse for what I need and want to do.

Who knows if that's the fix. Under the patent page it is posted that this "fix" is already shown in the 2016 shop manual.

Here's the link from above.
