Unless you're adding a significant amount of weight and or racing it, I don't think it really matters 🤷♂️Tire weights in the HTRs vs the Evolutions are a bit wonky. A lot more weight in the HTR 11s vs 9s as compared to the Evolutions. The Evos are heavier across the board.
Current:
HTR 27x9x12 25 lbs
HTR 27x11x12 31 lbs
Options:
HTR 28x9x14 26 lbs
HTR 28x11x14 34 lbs
Evo 28x9x14 29.8 lbs
Evo 28x11x14 32.3 lbs
Going with the HTRs means adding 1 lb of rubber to each front wheel, and 3 lbs to each rear.
Going with the Evos would be adding 4.8 lbs to each front wheel, and 1.3 lbs to each rear.
New 14" wheels weigh 16 lbs each. Current wheel weight is 14.5 lbs.

Reminds me of when I used to street race "allegedly"........some guys would go crazy trying to remove a/c compressors and billet aluminum this and that, all to come around and see the 350# driver shoehorn his way in to the driver's seat 🙄🤦♂️😂😂😂
Anywheyz.......is an extra 20# going to really make a difference?......maybe, but it's probably the equivalent of leaving with a cooler full of trail pops and coming back empty.....🤷♂️

I did that on my p7 and will do it on 1000 also. Like I said nothing wrong either way . I like to have one size tire as it makes other things easy.I would effectively be adding 6.5 lbs to each front, on a 475 cc machine currently running 27s, that was spec'd for 24s.

The 10s in the rear would be lighter than 11 but I get 10 in front would be heavier. It kinda balances out . I get tring to reduce rotating mass but to be honest if I was only adding less than 10 pounds total from all four wheels I wouldn't sweat it. I firmly believe the 500 is geared low enough to more than handle. In the end its your decision and only you have to be happy with it. Like I said not right or wrongA couple of pounds would be great! Adding 10 lbs to the front (Evo 9s + wheels) gives me pause.
I know the HTRs work very well, I have two sets of them. They are directional, but both sets are wearing evenly. Just kinda wanted to try something different, but the P5 has very little power to work with as @The Green Goat mentioned.
Yes, new wheels 5+2 offset 14s. All 10s in Evos would give me the same rear weight tires as current (+ spacer weight) but would be adding even more weight to the front. I like the idea of all 10s, I just don't see an option for it that I'm happy with. In 28" 14s, HTRs only come in 9.5 width, oddly. I suppose that's an option.
HTRs:
add 2 lbs to front, 6 to rear.
Evos:
add 9.6 to front, 2.6 to rear.
same size tires . . . wonky

Well a guy can’t say that you never put any thought into your decision 😂. They’re gonna work great!I decided on HTRs (again ). The combination of capability, weight and cost is hard to beat in an 8-ply radial.
