I don't live in snow country, and the answer to this question may be obvious to others, but is there a benefit or advantage to having a V-shaped plow versus a straight plow?
Watch this video , all plows in one , I could build like this , but my V plow I will only use during elk hunting season to get to the cabin and make new trails or retrieve elk .

This video towards the end shows benefit of V shaped plow.

Changed my diff fluid after work today with the Royal Purple. Was suprised how little the rear took. The front uses probably 4x the fluid. The front looked like new but the fluid in the rear was black/grey. I found my rear diff breather tube was pulled loose from the nipple. Got it stuck back on. Will be something to check on from time to time.

I dont have that plow , I made my own for about 200$. The one in the video easy to do also if you need multi functional plow.

Well, I think I wont be able to work for any spy agency , since can not keep my mouth shut until I'm done. Simultaneously with V plow , I've started to research and look for a track system, found a local guy selling new 4S1 UTV tracks for 3500$ , but was not sure if I ever want to use all 4 tracks , I am leaning towards snow cobra system, or just skis up front and tracks on the rear. Contacted Donn, since I found his track to be peace of art and boggy wheels works like shocks since they are air filled compare to mattracks or camso, I think level of comfort drops very much on those on rough not snowy terrain. I dont have all machinery to fabricate Donn's tracks , so for now I will use tracks over rear tires, made a frame already and started to fabricate tracks (this part requires patience and repetition) , will keep you posted.

If anyone has ability to fabricate Donn's tracks here is a link (this shows old cog wheel, there is a newer version on youtube) , it will come up may be to 800-900$ to make all four compare 3500-5000$ factory made. He also sells blueprints for those and files for plasma cutter , I think you can google them on his youtube channel.

atvforumet.no - atv - firehjuling - quad • Se emne - My homemade ATV mattracks

I've contacted mattracks to sell me just rear pair and no luck, so DIY is the way to go for me.

Had a good three-day ride last week. The attached video only covers the two days the videographer joined us. I mostly lead the pack so you catch afew glimpses of the P5. You see some west coastal rain forest, some old over-grown logging trails and abit of powerline right-of-way. We cut alot of fallen trees out of the way. The P5 was a trooper. It went where the quads went. From about 5:30 on, we descended a super steep switch back hill to a river. Video just doesn't capture the acute hill angles... I wasn't looking forward to crawling out of there but the Dirt Pig barely broke a sweat. Can't wait till things warm up here.

Well no pictures since it was dark, cold, and about midnight. Any way I had too pull my son out after he decided to drive his Chevy HHR down a hard packed snow machine trail. He made it about 100 yards before he buried it to the frame the snow pack is well over 2 feet. (Had about 300 yards more to go to get to the road) I was able to tie off to a tree and use the winch to get him out of the hole then I just used the beast to pull back to the driveway. I really did not think it would do it but hey this little machine is a true beast. I still don't know what he was thinking trying to drive out that way, anything with any weight to it that breaks the hard pack is done.

Finally had some time to install the rear view mirror w/camera , that I bought a few months ago. I think I am really going to like this mod.

Installed tool box, re did top of the snorkel to clear box, finally got vent lines all extended, and started mocking up bucket seats. (Though snorkel work was started yesterday due to paint needing to dry)

Took the P5 to Windrock yesterday. First time we had been in a few months. Was a beautiful day to ride. Rode about 8 or 10 moderate trails then took G9 up to the overlook and windmills. My wife doesn't like the diamond trails.

Had to clean the P5 and her Rancher up today. I finally tried the Super Clean like I had heard about from here. It works great. Will definalty be using it from now on to clean up our machines.
