I'm looking at dually pickups for myself now. Mama has commandeered my Durango now.
2 Wheel or 4 WD.? I had a 2 WD Ford diesel several years ago and it was terrible in mud/snow, to much weight in the front, front end washed out.

2wd. I don't care for 4wd trucks. The front ends are always weak.

Get the diesel whatever if you can. I've driven 1500 Z-71's for years and a couple years ago I went from that to the 2500 HD. Lost that Cadillac ride but gained in load capacity and it feels a lot safer pulling 10,000 pounds down the highway. However, s*** fuel economy. And still even with the larger 6.0 it lacks the power. I'm doing diesel next, but it will be Duramax or Cummins, Ford had the diesel 7.3 and let it go. ;)

Im not into diesel trucks, been there done that, don't like laying on the frozen tundra changing gelled filters. But what I can't understand, we had two Case back hoes, no heaters, always started, HUGH?

That's probably going to be the plan.

Good question, however offroad diesel is much less likely to gel than on road blend. That's probably your answer. A little Howes fuel treatment and they don't gel.

Ive tried all kinds of treatments, nothing works, mechanic's told me to add 5 gallons of gas to 100 gallons of diesel, That sounds pretty scary!

I let both of mine sit in cold without being plugged in at 0 degrees they always start and don't have those damn glow plugs get twice the power and mileage just saying lol. I'm kinda partial to 6 in a row like a semi.

Idk but mine runs off stove oil kerosene or vegetable oil. As long as my tank is over half full I dump my oil change into the tank. In areas that are cold there is usually anti gel in the fuel.
