Been thinking about the new ATV to be announced this month. I think it will be a 1000 cc quad. Polaris and Can-Am have had one for several years. I put the Pioneer 700 gears in my quad so I could run large tires for the snow rides. I still didn't have enough power above 6,000 feet elevation. I bought a Kawasaki 750 but quit snow riding a year later and sold it.

The 700 Rubicon was the new ATV, it's already in dealers.

It's a Rincon with different body work, and somehow they made it worse. It really needs power steering now, turns like s***.

I've been thinking about the drawing with the engine all the way forward under the seats. It may be a 750-sport model with a smaller shorter 750 twin engine. It could be available as a 4-seat model more like the Pioneer 5 seat.

If Honda thinks HVAC cab models are a passing fad, they had better think twice. A friend of mine currently owns two P1000s, and has probably pre-sold at least six Pioneers and Talons for the dealer he buys from, and he is currently very close to trading a P1000 for a Ridge XR HVAC model. Obviously, losing his business won't break Honda, but people want what they want, and you either build it or lose.

To deal with a belt drive just to have air is a no go for most Honda purchasers. I can see your issue living where it’s Hot, but I can also see a Cool ride interrupted by some very hot belt replacements.

While I would prefer a DCT today, I have ridden and driven many thousands of miles, including Glamis dunes, with CVTs and have had 0.00 belt failures. I understand Honda fans have chronic beltaphobia, but CVTs are not a guarantee of failure, by any means.

A belt for an accessory like an ac compressor wouldn't be any different than relying on a v or serpentine belt in your car for that. Honda could add that without sacrificing the dct that makes honda what it is. Belt breaks? No problem you just won't have ac.

That is true. Time will tell if Mother Honda feels we really need HVAC.

Maybe someday the utility machines will get hvac. One thing to consider is the polaris, Canam and the kawasaki hvac machines are about 30k or more since they need enclosed cabs. These models are so costly, that they are not selling that well. Above 30k puts you close to jeep territory.

Anyway, honda always has new colors to offer on their 25 models!

I expect Honda will keep the cost way less than what's available now. The extra weight and less suspension than the Talon make it unacceptable for me. I need to go fast to have fun. Once you have raced most of us don't get over the need for speed. I did give up Motorcycles and Quads several years. I'm too old to get hurt and still need to go Stupid Fast to have fun. Great suspension, a high-end driver, then HP. In the Dunes HP is first. The Turbo guys do get Butthurt when they can't keep up with the Talons. My buddy is amazing and really enjoys beating up on the Turbo's.
