Here's how it went for me... got a call from a lady at fedex saying they needed me to fill out a form before they could send my shocks. she emailed it to me... it included ss#. I completed and emailed back. shocks arrived next day. about a week or two later, I get a $100 bill from fedex for import tax... haven't paid it yet...

Really? So it's an extra 100?

So you have a 250 lbs per inch front and a 275 lbs per inch rear spring. Mine was 250 front and 300 rear.
What did you say you do when you talked to them about setup? Haul anything?

My email followup after we talked:
Roof/skid - 140#
Rear tire rack - 80#
Winch - 30#
Mostly 1 person 200#.
Want to try disconnecting the rear sway bar also.
Mostly trail riding, a little aggressive at times.

I imagine the rear tire rack and removing the sway bar calls for a little heavier spring.

you will pay an import tax if you order from Canada... mine was ~$100. FedEx sent me a bill after my shocks were delivered. I'm still not sure whether I'm going to pay it or not!lol Molan Labe mother f#$#ers!lol
Thats weird, when we just to go to Canada fishing and buy stuff paid taxes, and got refunded at the border back into the US?

They sent me 250# springs for the front - waiting on rears

I told them 350 lb meat (driver / passenger) and 200 payload (50 front, 50 middle, 100 rear) to account for skids, roof, w/s, winch battery, tools. That would be average - sometimes no passenger, others more gear.

I think this is why I'm leaning towards the fox shocks.. the quick adjustability seems like it would be a good thing.

How do you figure the Fox would be any faster to adjust?
Just reach down and turn the knob on the Elka.

I just figured a soft, medium and hard would make it a lot easier and faster. I would think with too much adjustment I would just set it and forget it and not get the benefit of adjustable shocks outside of that initial awwwa.

As far as what you can adjust. But the simplicity of 1,2&3 settings, I can see being nice to crank to 3 when you're loaded with wood and then back to whatever when you're just cruising. I'm still holding judgment until someone has something to actually compare to. But I'm not sure how much one is actually gaining. If I go Elkas it will be 4 or 5's. I may wait until after the takeover just so I can get some seat time with others and compare. I'm just torn..

I am a little too. Probably run elka but I'd like to hear what someone would say for comparison. My issue is by February/April I want this thing done. Be really nice to have new legs by then. I think 3 settings is plenty for me but lots of good reviews out here

come on @ghost, look where he's from... if there were more than 10 adjustments, he'd have to take his shoes off everytime he adjusted so he could count that high... and if that picture is really his feet, then those shoes need to stay ON!lol
