Don't normally discuss my occupation and when most get a grasp of what I do they say ' f*** that, you couldn't pay me enough'! Takes a certain breed, high functioning, even keeled and able to switch gears in an instant. Part of my day can be spent in meetings with city officials, engineers and architects, the other part picking up trash or scraping mud off the road. Construction superintendent means wearing every hat and being responsible for everyone and everything on the job site. Deal with a diverse set of personalities daily and of course most trades and contractors come in thinking they're alpha male. Unrealistic deadlines, terrible blue prints, bad ground, bad weather...from utilities and road work to a paint drip on the wall, I own it.

Nice description.

Me too. Been in the business for 43 years and only a couple left. Can’t wait.

Post up some workplace pics if you can. Bonus points for gynecologists or secret government agencies.

My Nissan is still haunting me. No wonder the owner let it go back. Bad coil. Botched distributor install. And after I got all that...went for a test drive to assess the rest, and started running very poorly, and obviously very rich. A snack on the old MAF confirmed it was bad. Another piece of the puzzle replaced. Now for the A/C...

Nissan's are right up there with Chrysler and VW products... they'll nickle and dime you to death!

I am a Machinist for a living and make Aircraft parts. 99% of our work is aircraft but we also have a small racing division. This is a part we machined for the University of Akron for their race car. This is part of the wheel hub for the car!!!

I really enjoy what I do and the company I work for, are very good to their employees.

If you do Aerospace work you might run into my son-in-law. He is an engineer specializing in Carbon Fiber and assembly line production.

I’m a Union Steamfitter specializing in combustion control. I’m a service tech for a mechanical contractor. I work on commercial/industrial boilers, burners, incinerators, furnaces, oven, heaters, whatever burns. I work on piping systems(mainly steam, condensate and fuel). I lay pipe like a wizard. Pump and valve rebuilds, no problem. I work like a mad man, getting 20-30 days off a year with a bunch of 14+hour days throughout. I love my career and wouldn’t have it any different. ;) I don’t work to live, I live to work. :D
