Looks like a short piece of fuel hose and a couple of clamps could fix it. Or, is it one of those things like a bad injector harness on a P1k5 where Honda wants you to replace the entire wiring harness.

It did.

I cut it just behind some of the ribs (leaving one rib) to effectively give it a barb, and slipped on some fuel vapor hose. Hose fit very tight...enough that it took some heat to persuade it on. Then clamped it with fuel injection clamps. The plastic line is fairly rebust, so clamping force is very good.
I don't like to cobble...especially with potential fire hazards, but this is a better-than-new repair. That plastic line will have crumbled into dust before the hose fails.

The customer was obviously very happy. The post was more about the continuing trend of manufacturers bending over customers by selling cheaper junk at higher prices.
