Well I bit the bullet today and ordered the walker evans front shocks, so the wait begins.... I already have the rear ones on, can't wait for the fronts to come, in three or four months.....

No haven't met him. But sure he's a good guy. So when I said I was almost done I really meant it. My 520 will be mainly used for hunting and occasionally pushing some snow. This is my first sxs but my 5th Honda the others were atvs. I am 75 yrs. Old and just wanted something easier to get in and out of. With the stuff I have added I don't know as I need anything else. But always open to suggestions. That's why I found this form. I thank everyone for helping me with my choices. Thanks to everyone.
Congratulations @Benny8838 its a good looking machine. I’ve added one or two things to my P500 as well, and would definitely recommend power steering and a front locker.

I just added the E.W. shocks, glove box, torque locker, mounted spare tire center of the roof. Great little rigs. Any recommendation for tires. I'm in the mountains, High desert conditions, sandy, rocky, sometimes muddy. I like to stick to my stock rims. Maybe bump up one size.

I'm waiting on the right price for shocks too. Not real picky on what stage at this point, anything will be better than the stockers.
I went on a rough ride on my local power lines with 20+ other machines last weekend. 40 miles of mostly rocky trails. I can confidently tell you I would not have enjoyed the day had I not purchased Elka Stage 2’s. Highly suggest you bite the bullet if you plan on doing any trail riding with your pioneer.

Got warm enuf to putter around in the garage, got my front "bumper" installed finally:

PXL 20220316 213400321MP

Sitting a little funny, that Viper 6k widespool winch is too big on the driver side for the clamp to snug in there, so it's gotta sit up a bit. Didn't think about getting one of those fancy $$$ neoprene boots for it, will probably just bungee a bag around it or something to keep the mud off.

Also started on the 2nd battery install.
Step 1> Buy more push pins, cuz half of em broke.
Step 2> clean out 20lbs of last-years mud.
Step 3> make a mud flap
PXL 20220316 211009656MP

Step 4> Figure out wtf I already had wired up when I started it last year:
PXL 20220316 211633724MP

Got a bracket cut up and ready to go, tomorrow I'll get a couple short jumpers made to get the switch and whatnots all wired up and put everything back together.

My wife and I loaded up the bikes and took a ride to a trail close to the house. Then picked up some fallen sand stone near the river for our landscaping. After the ride and the rock collection, we had a beer on the bank of the Elkhorn River before we rode the pioneer home.

Small world....We have a blue 520 and use it to collect rocks along our trails for our landscaping. Looks like you had a fun and productive day.

WHEW! damn, my back is sore now. Got everything installed, works so far.
Battery wedged in box with some scrap wood and foam rubber, box is screwed onto support plus a ratchet strap just in case:
PXL 20220317 220414135MP

I know what every wire does in this mess, I promise:
PXL 20220317 220420350MP

Switch so I can select which battery to trickle charge:
PXL 20220317 220133033

Main battery has a 100amp breaker, Aux battery has a 300amp breaker, plus fuses under the hood for the 'lectricals.
Have it wired up so the charging relay only connects the batteries when red switch is On, so hopefully near zero chance of discharging main battery accidentally.
Tomorrow I'm going to put the side panels back on, and try to find where I put my dual-voltage meter, and get that installed in the dash.
