I have the split windshield and still very hot in cab on my 1000-5 deluxe. Made bracket and added bilge blower with 4” hose out the bottom which helps but not when going 35+ mph. Also have the heat resistant material under seat. So I made these today and WOW stay a lot cooler in cab now.

I've seen on here where some of the guys actually raise up the bottom piece of the windshield for airflow

Started the mods! Vent extension kit, tailgate level brackets, side mirrors, Kolpin 4500 lbs quick attach winch, Denali 72" plow and mount and Deluxe wheels and tires. Coming soon windshield (Rogue or UTV 801) and hard roof (not sure who yet), backup lights, back panel (Honda fabric with window, I think), led headlights (bulbs), switch panel with cup holders. Not sure if I will do the dual battery setup yet based on accessories planned. As I can figure the only real power draw is the winch and sound system from other users experience. Don't plan on a sound system and winch operation will only be snow plowing and will be cautious not to move while winching. Will have volt meter to monitor main battery so that should help keep an eye on things. Anyway, that is my plan for now.

Wasn't today but last Sunday, Walter and I were on a club ride several years ago and I was telling him about my wife renaming our P1 to Rooster, got me to thinking, Rooster, Rooster Cogburn, presented Walter with the idea and movie sine and here's what he came up with! That was several years ago, got refreshed graphics a couple weeks ago and finally got around to slapping them on. Don't turn him loose! HA! You can reach him at Creative UTV Graphics.com. He's a great guy and a club contributor!

I removed my TC bumper a few weeks ago in order to get to other items I needed to work on. While I had it off I decided to cut some slits into it to help with ventilation for the radiator with Metabo disk, being narrow enough to keep sticks out of radiator (I already posted about that). Before putting bumper back on I remembered what @JTW said about tabs needing bracing. So I cut them out and welded to the bumper tabs and on the P1k5. No ...... the welds are not pretty, but they will do the job.0c2f1a8e36b3d030fe30e80cae205693

After the 3 day overland ride at Tackett Creek I had some repairs to make, due to both outside bottom tubing being bent bad enough to cause a problem shutting both doors. Also wanted to vent the TC bumper to hopefully help with the radiator.

Originally I was going to add 2x1/4" angle iron between the tubing and skidplate AFTER straightening tubing as others had suggested. Then I decided to add a 2' piece of smaller angle kicked out to help with rocks and trees and tie back into frame.

Also had to make repair to a piece of fender flair that came of due to rivet failure.

I used the trackloader with brushcutter to press the bend out of the tubing. Surprisingly, it came out really well!

It has been way too hot here for doing this, glad to finally get it done!D8a29cbab8e6aeb8b708883c7339d5a5

Did the slits help with the engine temp?

well.today it's been exactly 2 months since i ordered my damn Elka shocks from ishock and still nothing.i could have had a set of oem Foxes from my dealer in 3 days.
I ordered mine direct from Elka in Canada delivered to NW Arkansas in a week and one 1/2 and and they got hung up at the border until I paid the excise tax, but there was no virus at that time, shipping has been very slow lately.

i just got an email from Daena Mcgarvey from Elka telling me to be patient. it was a blanket email to all customers waiting for their shocks.i'll get a tracking # the day they are shipped.currently they are working on all orders placed on June 1.who the hell knows when ishock actually placed my order.i placed it with them june 1.at this point i'm really considering killing the order and buying the oem Fox's.

The Elkas are worth the wait. I wasn't happy with either set of Fox Shocks on my 1000s the Elkas are great out of the box
that's the only reason i'm still waiting.Elkas are clearly the superior shock to the Fox .plus i've already been waiting 8 weeks now.Bandits,Walker Evans,i'll still be waiting weeks if i order tomorrow..if the stock shocks weren't so bad for my style of riding it wouldn't be so bad,but they're really not up to my style.i'm constantly bottoming out.

Just recently finished up my factory bumper mods:
Added 1/4" steel front plating, shackle tabs, and tied into main framework of bumper
Added 3/16" steel side "style" plating
Added recessed fog lights
Herculiner coated
And the shackles to match
PBumper1
PBumper2
PBumper3
PBumper4
PBumper5

The factory bumper left me a lot of room to be desired.
