I started getting ready for the weekend coming up at royal blue. I don’t know why I waited so long to cut a hole to have easier access to the winch.

I also added two USB ports inside the glove box for charging camera batteries or someone else’s phone.

I’ve been traveling out of the country today through Friday. So I only have Saturday to get ready before I head back up to royal blue Sunday. I went a head and started packing.

My six-year-old will be in his harness in the middle seat up front and the three-year-old will be in his car seat in the back. That left just enough room to carry my toolbox, spare tire, cooler and dry box.

Hey send me some info on those tie down points you added! Did you back them with anything?

They have worked great. I drilled them out so that they would except the factory bolts. In some locations I was required to change to a longer bolt. Most of the factory bolts have a shoulder on them which makes them too big to go through the plate on the D ring. The threads fit easily.

One other thing, order more than you think you need. I bought six the first time to see if I like them, then I ordered 20 for the second time and use them all up. So recently ordered 16 more and I have a few left over

Do you have the link from where you ordered them?

You need the jei bed extender. Life is alot easier with it.

I’ve got the Honda bed extender but it’s a little heavy. I think the JEI bed extender is also just as heavy if not heavier. I would like to do a custom aluminum bed extender that attaches to the roll cage so it’s wider. I wish I knew somebody that knew how to weld aluminum and also had a bender!

From looking at your rig It never crossed my mind that you are concerned about weight.

Lol, very funny! I just try to keep the weight low. I had three roof lights that I removed and also had overhead gun rack and overhead storage bags that I removed.

It makes me sick when I drive the farm rig and feel how light weight and crisp the acceleration is compared to mine.

I haven’t said much about the Elka stage 3 I’m running now. I swapped these for the Walker Evans and there doesn’t seem to be much difference. The only difference is that I ordered these with 250# front springs and 275# rear springs for the weight of my vehicle. I’ve been meaning to say that they are perfectly fine for a P1000 and a great improvement over stock.

They have really worked good and gave me no problem. I pushed them hard a couple weeks ago at RRB. I had camping gear for two and two passengers for most of the time. It was nice to add a little preload and compression adjustment.

I would say to any of you guys that you can’t go wrong with these. They are simple to adjust since they have only one knob. Sure the stage 4 or 5 are better but not everyone wants several knobs to adjust and calibrate. Maybe if we had 20” of travel it might be worth it to me.

Here’s a pic from RRB

I found one tie rod ball joint nut slightly loose. I’m sure it would’ve got worse if we had wrote a little while longer.

Then the driver side tie rod was loose at the large nut inside the boot.

No picture of this but I broke another steering stop. That’s the third one I’ve broken, they seem to just shattered into pieces.

It could be your driving!!!!

I'm liking that hole for the winch access. I may do that myself.
