Had a nice 125 mile ride yesterday into northern Cochise County, AZ. Crested Saguaro Cactus, a deserted Adobe Cabin, overlook into Redfield Canyon Wilderness area and a few more photos.

It‘s the transmission, steering clutches and brakes housing for a dozer. Couldn’t see the casting numbers above the input shaft clearly, but it doesn’t appear to be a Caterpillar number.

People on YouTube saying it's an Allis-Chalmers. There are casting numbers in the video, but I don't know if they are what we are looking for.

If it is an AC, then it's NOT the old cable dozer that was nearby. That was definitely a Cat.

My Dad had one of the old cable dozers - a D6-3T from around 1950 I believe.

Windrock ride. Caryville Flats, Radar Base, mountain grave, best overlook on Windrock.

Swinging bridge is on Windrock, the old country church and grave yard are on North Cumberland WMA.

It turned into a winch fest on the trail toward home. We all 3 had to winch once, the other pioneer had to winch twice, plus a busted tire and a bent tierod lol.

I put these on during deer season and haven't changed back because I've only been doing bunny trails lately. I definitely needed the 30s for the rock climb that I had to winch. These 28s got me stuck twice in the snow too. I'm back in my cheap ass mode, so I'm trying to get full value out of everything I own now lol.

Since I'm still about a month from heading south into the desert, and today was predicted to hit 60* in Denver (which is 20* colder at the trail head), I headed out for a ride today (colder temps predicted soon). I hate snow but staying home watching utoob is worse. Nothing special, and I don't stop once moving unless I have to pee, only 2 fotos. There were many sections where the snow was torn up by previous 4x4s but they demanded momentum, so no pics. I went down one leg thinking that I'd make a loop but, since the snow was too deep to continue safely, I had to abort and take the alternate (safe) route back. 😢 This is the first time in 4 years I've had to abort due to snow depth. Somewhere between 55-60 miles.

In December 2022, the last ride of the season for me was December 16, and it was the only ride after Thanksgiving. Trail systems reopen in May usually.
In 2023, (lack of) snow conditions allowed 11 rides and about 800 miles in December. We also put on 350 miles in January 2024, as County Forest trail systems were reopened to UTV due to lack of groomable snow depth for snowmobiles. I'm a winter Texan in February, so no rides for me, but our club has rode several times in February which is really unusual in Wisconsin
