P1000 Need Front Shock Loan

The fronts for sure. They need more spring and dampening. The stock rears are ok unless your jumping things. The main thing the rear shock needs is more rebound dampening. I swapped all 4 at one time so I don't have any experience on just doing the fronts.
What shocks did you get? The stock self leveling rear shocks are a joke. If you can't back up with a load slow. I usually use mine for moving a trailer around unloaded now. After clutch issues/failure. Do your rear shock have an easy spring adjustment? And are your shocks rebuildable?

Elka stage 4 front and rear. Fully rebuildable and an Allen and rod they sent to adjust preload easily.

Did they have a recommended sag measurement, that is weight off machine and normal load in machine? Or does that even come into play in a S x S?

And I was reading about tire and wheel on the machine, think they are needing weight of unsprung weight for right shock? Don't know if you can change tires/wheels and not have to buy different shocks.

They wasn't worried about unsprung weight. That is all handled by all the rebound and compression adjustments. Didn't get anything from them on the ride height. I don't think sag plays a big role like on a motorcycle where the sprung weight can change dramatically with different rider weights. The shocks are the same length and stroke as stockers so keeping the same ride height keeps it pretty close to 50R/50C. They do want the weights of all add ons, riding style and passengers to determine spring rate.

Thinking about the Stage 4's. Rebound adjustment, Hummmm?

Everything was assembled and set when I got them. There's a card with the C and R settings and the preload was set.

I'm sure they can. Pretty sure its a standard spring. Eibach is a big manufacture. Most are $50-$100 each.

I think they do, they have two separate springs.

I haven't seen any elkas for the hondas that have dual rate springs. I think @PioneerPete said his were single rate and he has the stage 5 shocks.

None so far have had dual rate setups on them. But you might be able to get a single variable rate spring.
