My aunt( hardcore Baptist) and wife ( Catholic) we're just discussing religion at the dining room table. I need humor to survive!
Oh dear. At least they were discussing it and not arguing about it, lol.

Just had a great meal of fresh steamed green beans and fried squash (with a little bit of bacon and onions!)
A garden isn't a prepper thing.... it's a necessity!!!!

Living in the country, I already have my own well and have been considering and old type windmill to install if ever needed to pump the water. Other possibility is simple an old hand pump that would replace the submerged pump if electricity was not available. If all else failed, I drank water from the creeks/rivers growing up and it did not kill me.

As for ammo ...... haha, got enough for a small war. Thousands of rounds of various rifle/pistol ammo and reloading supplies, not counting 10's of 1000's of round of rimfire 22LR's, 22mag, and 17hmr. And YES, it will kill a moose. May not drop him in his tracks, but surely can kill it.

You could always get a solar well and store it for when you need it.

Here’s some of my ass-salt mills...
Rain water collection tower next to the barn whose roof I use to collect rain and tanks-currently at 3,500 gallons, fire suppression 5.5 hp gas water pump w/250’ of hose. Plus udder tings not so frightening to the spying eyes of the general population . I’ve dabbled with steam and hit-n-miss engines too. I picked up a few more mills since I took these pix. I do wish I still had my 1880’s Chattanooga Cane Mill. It was moded To be driven by belt via an attached drive train form a model T Ford. Redneck engineering at its finest.
I used to have a Witte, a Hercules and Fairbanks-Morse single piston engines. The latter was Throttle Goverened. They were all belt drive engines.
