Also my new trailer showed up today. Nice seeing it in the yard. Still waiting on my friend to get his new one but it’s back ordered, but it becomes permanently mine soon.
Wiring is screwed up and needs work down the road. Unlike last weekend with our oI’d 16ft trailer I borrowed this is a 20, much nicer loading both Sxs’s!! Heavy duty enough for anything I want. It’s been carrying vehicles for for my wrecker buddy constantly for years, held up to him so should be good.

Last time I saw that trailer, it was parked in the woods with a bare mattress sitting on it. No idea if it was used for No homo purposes....

Chris’s main trailer?? He used it constantly. Any time he wasn’t using the rollback. Steve just borrowed it and his Dodge last week to go get the 4-runner from Oregon I believe. Not sure what trailer you’re referring to.

WeLk first time with the new to us trailer. This is our new setup for the long haul. Trailer is great but need to raise it some, we graded the way in in many places and backing into camp spot we added a big mound on the tail.
Figure we’re at 19k pounds, truck never knew it even with brakes on trailer not working yet . No issue whatsoever. I’m sold on the 1-ton dually, Stability like crazy! Literally didn’t know there was a load.
Again a flawless trip in and the truck actually a joy to drive. Very proud to say even on the long dirt road in it had absolutely no rattling or squeaks. Nothing but the sound of the Cummins humming and turbo spooled. It is a very solid truck!! Wife said it was all worth it finally.
Jackknifed trailer so no need to unhook, that’s way to go. This setup will pull into driveway and done, ready for next camp trip.

Headed home today. Shes definitely stretching her legs this weekend. 310 miles, 260 of freeway and 50 of woods in the hills.
Hill coming out of Clark Fork is 8 miles of straight up nasty hill, basically idled up in second and compression braked in second down. Both my friends had hot brakes and there was massive fade in the Chev. Both their trailers had trailer brakes, mine did not. Only touched mine a couple times.
Beautiful coming into Clark Fork today.

Checked mileage today. 245.8 miles/14.1 gallons. 17.4 Mpg. Not too bad considering the speed we were at and that dirt road. Was hoping for a little better but she is a big girl.

Looks like you’ve got a solar panel for boondocking CP??
Ya we never use shore power and try not to run genny. It’s 100w. Have another to install too. They don’t work all that great because we’re usually parked in the trees, but every little bit helps though. Key is to reduce the needed usage by using more efficient lights and fans rather then trying to keep up with the factory inefficient items.
We only drop .6 volts on two day use but gotta get that up to 4 day. I think between another solar panel and swapping to diesel heating it’ll make it.

Cool, I’m all about solar...
I put a quick disconnect for mine and made a 50’ extension cord so I can move it away from trees. I usually move it a couple times during the day to keep it pointed at the sun...

I know you like boondocking... Do you have a shower in that?

That’s a good idea.
Was hard to find short one with full bathroom but yes this one does. Wind a using the outside shower more frequently though, still need to set up the curtain hanger outside.

Very cool. I’m thinking of that $40.00 tent shower for right beside the RV at the outside shower. Perhaps something like this....

Truck did good this weekend. Ran her hard with temp over 90 degrees out, all fluids stayed cool. Calculated camping weight right at 19,000, definitely not oh my god by any means but heavier then I originally figured it’d be. Saw 14.6mpg this weekend on our 270 mile jaunt. Now finally at the 500 mile “break in” period lmao.
Finally saw 180 on water and rear diff hit 170 pulling a long 6.5 grade pass at over 70, which isn’t anything bad. First issue with the truck if you can call it that is brake light switch is loose and causes brake lights to stay on, found out about that today.
Everything else good to go, I’d drive across country with her. Trust it fully, not bad for 30yo truck. My only b**** is it was a bit toasty today, luckily it’s got a s*** ton of windows, but ac needs charged soon, 100 degree temps coming and we don’t stop camping when hot.

17.4 mpg is awesome! I always heard that Cummins got better mpg than others, but it has not proven true on my '17 3500. Even empty I can not get 17 unless I was driving 60mph on interstate. Normal empty at 72, get about 15-15.5. Pulling single axle trailer with P1K, get about 12, pulling GN with skidsteer, drops to 7.5-8 unless I stay below 55mph.
