Did something right measuring everything out and the driveline shop hit the marks. Went in beautifully, probably the easiest thing on this truck. She officially can move under it’s own power for the first time. 2wd or 4wd even lol.

Oh ya shut her off if need to stop. I’d be driving it if all my tools weren’t in front. Oh well soon enough, got 10 more days till she’s making the first trip, to paint!

Is painting it the last step on the list ?
It should normally be last step other the put together of stuff you don’t want to mask up for paint. In my case no unfortunately, there’s a lot of piddling yet but nothing large.
this next week buttoning up everything I can prior to paint but running out of time.

Started in on the plastics. Most trim will cross over from one of the versions of the first gen pickups but there’s a little trimming and heat/twist to make happen.
Center plastic again was not ever manufactured for the 4-door, so it’s gotta be made. Here’s what I’m doing, using an extended cab back piece and adding a side trim piece together. Both are extremely altered at this point but it’s close to fitting. Going to take a lot more work, going to have to cut/splice more on these combined pieces then get the edges right by cutting out other trim pieces and plastic welding them in.
I know, sounds like gibberish and trust me it is a bit in my head too but I now have a plan and it’s looking like it’ll work.

top piece is what’s going to be used.

Took a minute to figure out exactly what was needed and where to to be placed, the rotation had to be right but finally happy the rear doors are wired into correctly. Not going to drill a hole and stuff wire on outside on this one.
After searching a little found some Honda wire grommets that had right length and shape for what I needed. Rear doors didn’t exactly have spots set out for this but the rear speaker wires now run directly into rear doors and to the deck, then ran power lock and window wires for later instal, those aren’t going in yet as this truck needs on the road but they are set for later. It’s s*** that takes time but needs to be done.

this is pic of wires coming from rear doors into b post then into the cab.

like everything else no bare wires, it’s all got loom taped up then spray foamed inside so no rattles and grommets everywhere so no sparks later in life.

One side is primed, just sand down then texture and spray color left. Texture is a b**** but kinda figured out pattern when I repaired my glove box.

Starting in on the driver side now. It’s time consuming getting the angles to match interior pieces and all the edges fluid looking also making mount holes look factory placement but getting there. I’ve got 12 hrs in passenger side after somewhat figuring it out, driver side will go much quicker now that I know what I’m doing
Trimmed down everything I’m using so it’s all there to go quicker this time.

And here are a couple trim panels that never existed. Not perfect but look pretty good. Trim for the center doors, another missing link completed. I now have everything to make this 4-door a ‘93 LE. Wonder what they’d be worth over on the Cummins site?
Well gotta get the rest of the cab ready to install these. Busy day and I’m working on a bit of a hangover but still trying.

Had to trim these bump outs off the rear panel of the cab to carpet.
71050D3D 94FA 4DC6 BBFE BBC8A70C13A6

then added sound deadener to the whole back panel and spray glued carpet from end to end including the very back corners behind seatbelts. Also carpeted the trim panel that goes under the slider.

Still waiting on front door seals (rears are in) to finish up front but the B post now have the newly made upper trim panels on.
42AAE306 EB2C 4AA0 96F5 2B3151481AF4

I carpeted the lower of the B posts. It matches the back panel so looks factory like maybe Dodge would’ve done it. It’s all trimmed out back there and rear panel is done.
4 3 point belts in just like newer vehicles, looks factory

Slowly getting her together. I’m off interior, needs to be ready to drive to the shop this week😖
Got front gaps pretty good for an ol farm truck, she ain’t a Lexus I need to keep reminding myself of that. The hood and cowl on with no interference to that bug ol radiator that’s been fighting me so that’s awesome news.
I’m done for the night, over 30 hrs since I got off work on Friday and a long ass next week ahead.
