Well the truck goes into my bodyshop 26th of this month. I’ve requested no one else use the shop that weekend, don’t want to deal with others s***. Plan is to have body and paint done that weekend, one hell of a big truck I’ll be working my ass off lol. But it’s scheduled! So that means I gots some work to get done before then!

Cab lights in. Not the factory ones, I like these a lot better. Went clear so they aren’t quite as obvious. Wife and I decided awhile back since she’s going to have big hips in back, might as well look the part. I do believe it’s safer too, you tend to make room for a semi coming at you. Won’t miss this one.

Cab lights on the earlier models were taller and more round weren't they. The clear looks good on the white, I had the dark ones on my Black Ram.

Ya I’m not a fan of the originals at all. Trying to keep the stock appearance but couldn’t do those

Got the last of the of the led bulbs today. Absolutely every light in the pickup now will be converted. Hate spending the money at Superbrightleds but they have proven to be way better with durability then the cheap ones. It was expensive but worth it later.
Not only will the look better and be brighter but it’s a drastic cut off in used amps so it’ll be much easier on the system, which is a damn good thing in old Dodge.
Using electronic flashers so it remains a consistent flash even with trailer.

Alright the 4wd now works. Well once drive lines in lol.
like a few things it was a struggle. Found out the hard way it’s got the old shift pattern, takes awhile to figure that out when you are making your own linkage and shift gate. The gate had to be cut and rewelded opposite direction.
installed new bushings in everything, bought too big and ground to fit so there’s no slop, it’s tighter the it was new. Mine is adjustable unlike factory and I made it quick release so it can be adjusted if needed.
Used a longer shifter and bent it towards the driver an additional inch for ease of shifting. The new transfer and linkage shifts very easily.
Ordered new real leather shift boot for 4wd and new boot for transmission. Also new shift knob for 4wd as thats the wrong pattern for this transfer case.

Made a little headway today. The crew cabs didn’t have 3 point rear seatbelts but I wanted then in. Was a little more work then planned but they are in. Pulled an extra seat from extended cab.

and belt in other then floor bolt because carpet needs to go in first.

Made some headway on the cab trim. This has already proving difficult and I truly hate doing it but it is satisfying seeing it come together as a finished off crew cab. Uncharted territory here, it’s tedious.

I came across a pic of the 93 I had, almost forgot how ugly it was. This was the day I bought it, the guy used it to haul his Minneapolis-Moline tractors to shows. I painted it a few weeks later to solid white. Wish I still had it.

Damn Dave, this is going to be a bad ass truck! I cant imagine how rewarding it has to be to see your hard work come together!
Thank you buddy, I think it will be. It is rewarding as it’s getting some of the final stuff thrown at it. I will admit it’s been more then I thought, if were going to do it again I would’ve started with a good truck and then added the cab. Four trucks and tons of eBay, wrecking yards and Craigslist is proving a lot.
Broke and incredibly tired. Everything is a fight without unlimited funds. Be worth it here shortly, that’s all that keeps me going. I don’t give up on a project.

Went out and grabbed squarebody Suburban center panels in hopes they’d be close but that wasn’t the case. Nothing else close. Well it’s back to cut and paste, I want this looking finished.

I probably do somewhere, found this one by accident. I bought it for $5K, had 120k miles on it and already had the trans upgraded to the NV4500?....same one your using I think. Did some work on the inj pump to wake it up a bit, Sold it 5 yrs later for $8K.

Would’ve been either 4500 or Getrag. 5 years and 3k profit isn’t too bad lol. It’d still be worth that now
Did you repaint the grill inserts?

Yes, along with the headlight bezels & wheels, that thing was FUGLY!!!
It was the 4500, the original was a Getrag, they were garbage.
