The plan is to did loop clockwise direction. Leaving south out of LakeCity/ Highlander RV park.

Great. I'll head counter clockwise - over Cinnamon Pass - and meet you as you're heading west. I's easy to spot me, got "Red Mountain Rover" on the hood.

Good news is that CR 2 between Animas Forks and Silverton is open so if you want to check out Silverton (lunch/gas, etc) it's a much shorter ride to get there.

Saw this posted on Funtreks... last year Hancock had some sections that pretty easily qualified as rock gardens.... don’t know if they are worse this year or not.... but we saw several moose in this area... so should be fun if we take a group up that way.....

You reminded me, I too saw moose from afar just a bit down the road from the remains of Hancock [7-16-18]. Took some shots but my lens needed far more reach, unfortunately ....

Wish I was ready, got to rob a bank, pack clothes, get beer & ice, grease trailer bearings, load Rooster & gas cans/parts, did get the oil changed and new tires, though! Mentally I'm ready, that will be debatable with most! HA!

I started getting things ready to go last night,got the grass mowed today and a few other odds and ends. Going to get everything loaded up tomorrow and head out Saturday morning. We will be in Lake City Monday. I can't wait to get there !

Couldn't buy permit on line unless its a yearly pass, the lady I talked to said have to buy them at the Park?

The yearly permit is only $25.25 You wouldn't have enough time to get it online and then mailed to you by the time you leave. I'm pretty sure they sell them at Taylor Park Trading Post.

Cut the grass last night sounds like a theme here LOL going to get the RV out in the drive this evening and load up the pioneer, going to bed early tomorrow night after work getting up real early Saturday morning and hitting the road should be in Lake City Sunday afternoon

Going to stop and meet up with @Montecresto on Sunday. The headed to Lake City for the Loop.
I have been working 8bto 10 hour days for the last 2 weeks. No one will do my $#i+ while I'm gone. Plus I dont want anyone doing my stuff.

@Alan And family are leaving tomorrow so I’m heading over there to have a nice steak dinner before they go. There have been extremely hospitable and very very kind to me. Wonderful wonderful people.!.!
