Hey guys I got a brand new 2018 Pioneer 1000 and just before it shifts there is a knock clunk noise. I've seen some reviews of 16 and 17 models getting recalled and having similar clutch/tranny issues. It's not a normal sound at all.

That's normal. It should get better as the parts break in or you'll just get used to it.

Yes, it is. It is the electric solenoid shifter working like it should. Mine clunked pretty regular for first 100 miles. Then I changed oil in engine and sub-trans, and noise went down by 50%. With 250 miles on my 2017 100-3eps it is barely noticeable anymore. If you have clutch problems, after abusing it alot, the engine will rev up alot more than it should between shifts. Your 2018 has the oil mod to keep the #1 clutch cool, so unless you abuse it or put gigantic tires on it you won't have any issues. Hang in there. This is better than my old Willy's Jeep in ride and reliability.
