P1000 Which Skids??

It's a nice thought to have the whole belly covered to keep the mud out but you really need the air flow up to the exhaust.

I went with the minimal holes approach on mine and when it started getting warm (50f) I needed more air flow. Here's the original

Do any of you guys run mud. That is what is mostly around here and I want something that keeps the mud and small rocks from filling up the engine compartment. I know nothing is going to keep it completely out but which skid might do the best. I would rather take the whole skid off to do an oil change then have holes that catch and keep mud

I run mud on occasion (just days that end in "y" lol). The S&S have few holes and do great job of keeping out mud. There'll be small amount at the front and rear naturally but none in engine compartment.

These are hot machines regardless of skids. They are plenty uncomfortable bone stock.

The exhaust vent holes definitely help. You should try it

If heat problem ever comes back I sure will. Blowers are keeping it cool so far. That thing keeps me busy enough as it is. Not gonna go look for new tasks lol.

Well I posted a new thread which I should probably delete but I pulled the trigger on the ricochet skids. They looked pretty good and made in the US. I called rival and the guy was very nice and all. It I didn't get a warm fuzzy feeling from them so stayed made in the USA and got the ricochet I looked at the S&S and the SSS. Hope I made the right choice.
