My dad had a Buick. He gave it to my nephew and it’s still going. And full size always rides nice. I have a Tundra now, sold an FJ I had for 8 years and before that I had a 88’ Tacoma I had from new. I sold it when it was 24 years old. Had an old FJ40 before that. And many different cars before I got married. The Tundra drives like a Cadillac. Almost. Haha. But it does drive nice. The Tundra is nice to pull the trailer with the bike on it. My dad always had a GM. It’s what I learned to drive on. Three on the tree. 1/2 ton. And a 71’ Laurentian station wagon. Like driving a boat. But it was good with 8 kids. We still fought. Haha. My brother had a couple GM trucks in the early 90s and they sucked. That turned me off GM. Stick to something that works.

had to look that up, basically like a catalina here, cool old car. 90s trucks did suck i had an 89 tbi 350, f44 it was pretty good but you had to get 5spds if you wanted to work it, which i did all the time and worked on the road alot and it got 22mpg. the more crap emissions stuff after that was pretty unreliable, but the 88-89 they were simple and reliable, even towing and hauling three times the rating. i had a 99 350after that and it was an auto. got 15-18 mpg, but they had a mpfi convertion and after you have someone who knows what they are doing fix the trans they last forever. they all ride like a buick, never been in a toy, fj(drove a few new ones too, reminds me of a wrangler) or otherwise that that ride like that

the wife had an old monte early 80s was originally an ls but she had the engine from the ss and edelbrock top end with cam, heads, intake and carb, it had twice the power of the original. they only had 150 but pretty light for a car that was a boat. faster than my firebird back then too.

really like the chevelle. always thought they were cool. there was actually a 71 yellow, 350 with the t bar shifter a bunch of crap, it was for sale when i was looking same time and area as the 87 firebird i have now. but it was stock and thought it would be better in the long run, i was driving it all the time, winter beater would go on the road in the winter but that was all i drive for a long time

weather has been pretty boring fortunately most of the snow is gone and most of the ice in the driveway till the weekend i guess, nice to get a break

Haha, we don’t get that cold, usually, but we do get the big shift in temperature. Today it’s 36 and fog. Most of the snow is gone. That’s crazy for February. But I’ll take it. Your not too far away. So usually what weather you get , we get. Haha. Thanks. Just started to rain. Better than snow.

Hi Monte. I put a new gasket in the stove yesterday. She’s a little tight, but tight is good. Haha. She’ll burn a little better. It’s the way the door closes. I replace it about every five years. So not bad and pretty easy. Hope your day is going good.

Raining here today. I hope it takes all the snow with it.

Snowing like crazy here. All of Washington is getting a blanket I believe, going to turn it into a zoo over on the coast, doesn’t snow much there

I saw that , even Victoria is below freezing. Sorry but I don’t feel bad for them. They don’t even own shovels. In Canada. Haha. Stay safe.

That was probably a nice car and would be worth money today.
Caper
Yep, but my nicest car was a 1969 Oldsmobile 442
 It had a 455 CID 4 barrel, 4 on the floor dual exhaust. Now a Volkswagen Beetle would beat it in a quarter mile, but once it wound up (which took about two miles :D) it would pass anything on the road. At 16, it’s power was a little intimidating lol.

That’s awesome. Gotta love a big block. Almost unlimited. Haha. When I was 16 I had no fear. My wife hears stories of before we met and wonders how I’m still alive. Haha. Not time yet. All the crazy s*** I’ve done in vehicles , I’ll probably be killed by something stupid like a tree falling on me. Haha. I raced a few big blocks in my Chevelle. The Chevelle had a327, 300hp, turbo400,411s, 12 bolt rear end. And airbags in the rear. Very hard to catch off the start. A 396 nova as came up on me late one night at lights on the start of the Bedford hway. I left him but he eventually got me. A396. Haha. We stopped and he couldn’t believe it was a 327. Haha. Lots of good stories in the Chevelle. She’d almost take the wheels off the ground. I wish I still had it.
