P1000 Washing the dash with a pressure washer

My dash is all kinds of dirty, dusty, grimy. Don’t guys go at the dash and floor etc with a hose or power washer? Is it safe to blast the thing to death? Or is it windex and soft towel only?

Factory it would be fine. Leave the key in it to block that hole. Just wash/spray it... Dont blast it "to death".
Secondary accessories and modifications is where your issues will be. EX. that radio.

Yes, that radio will have to be protected somehow. So every thing else is water resistant then. Perfect!

I have pressure-washed all my machines on the dash and have not had any issues.
Just dont be blasting it.

My answer would be never.Every floater ive been around car or truck has been bad news.

You mentioned Windex. I don’t think they recommend using that on the windshield.

I pressure wash the dash gently, making a point to stay back and keep moving.

No way I'd try that. A pressure washer has (duh!) lots of pressure, and that pressure can force fluid through otherwise tight seals etc.

If it's that dirty, I'd mix a weak soap solution using Dawn dish soap or similar. Rinse with low pressure clear water first to get rid of grit that can scratch stuff, then apply soap solution with a soft brush or microfiber cloth. Finish by rinsing with clear water and then dry with microfiber cloth or one that is damp and wrung out, as that tends to absorb water better than a completely dry one.

I hit mine with the pressure washer, but not a direct blast. More of a light glancing spray from the side. A quick wipe-down with a rag to follow up.

Been spraying my P5 (and a Foreman) dashes for years, no issues. Keep the wand moving, don't get too close. Being aware of aftermarket add-ons is great advice. Honda sells them with no roof and no warning not to drive them in the rain. Just sayin' . . .

A while back I went to fill a tub with water with the pressure washer. It made me realize how little water they actually put out.
