I've only been on one ride since applying the stop squeal, but so far no squeaks.

It may start squeaking tomorrow but it looks like right now I'm good.

s*** I'd enjoy just one quiet weekend lol! Hopefully they'll stay quiet I think they probably will

I should be back in action now. I'll know tomorrow if it makes any noise or not. I'll still order a new one tomorrow to have on hand in case this one fails pretty soon.

Are those just slip joints or special clamp pliers?

We used to use them for water lines but I've used them for garden hoses, transmission cooler lines, etc. you can get the tool and an assortment of clamps for a reasonable price.

I believe I will keep using stock axles because if I upgrade the axle strength, the next thing to break could be the differential.

I agree with this logic 100%... Working in the world of industrial gearboxes, I'm positive that the failure mode will show-up somewhere else. Weak links are a good thing, especially when they are easily accessible and relatively inexpensive!
