If the OEM doesn't have the G meter sensing to apply the brakes variable like the P3, I wouldn't even consider it.

Just a fwiw Etrailer.com sales the prodigy 2 and 3 and has a section for FAQ's. They also sale a lot of trailer related parts and pieces.

The Ford system was developed in conjunction with Tekonsha and is fully integrated to the vehicle brakes. It has gain adjustability but the output is proportionally regulated based on brake pressure and vehicle deceleration.

Yep and they work very well. Between the factory brake controller and the factory exhaust brake in my 2017 Super Duty and going down some pretty steep mountains here in Colorado the control is super and the exhaust brake does such a good job you seldom have to tap the brake.
