I am running that 26" configuration (Kenda Bearclaw HTR) with ITP steel wheels (better offset than stock) and 1.5" spacers on all four corners. Very stable and no rubbing. That's on a 520.
I’m actually leaning towards the bearclaw HTR, looks great on pics I’ve seen. Do u happen to know your overall width with the tip wheels and 1.5 spacers ?

I want to say 56" when I measured after the installation last year. That includes the ITP steel wheels with the wider offset. I'm away from home for a week so I can't measure now to verify. (pics pre-Elka shock)

27’s Journey 350 on 14” rims, 11 wide rears, 9 fronts. No rubbing and 54” wide. Only recall posts that mentioned that 28’s might need a small frame trim on front.

Hi Everyone
We recently bought a 2020 Honda pioneer 500, and want to get a new set of tires gaining a lil ground clearance and maintaining width around 50-53 inches. Well I saw a couple great set ups on the forum of guys running 26x9x12 on their oem fronts and 26x11x12 on the oem back wheels went into the Honda power sports center today in Michigan telling them I’d like to order some tires to do this set up. They were adamant that No way that will work and I’ll be rubbing at full turn. They said putting that size tire won’t happen without doing damage. I tried to explain to them I’ve seen guys on our forum otherwise and they kind of gave me the eye roll……ugggh I’m hoping for some input from you guys if I still could do it and just take business to someone else? Thanks so much for the input
A mechanic at the local Honda dealer runs that size and likes them except for the weight.

I got some 27s off a P1000 and mounted them on my stock P500 rims. Absolutely no problems and it is not tippy.

Not to be an A hole but you must be riding flat ground bc it is tippy. A machine setup like that at RRB would be on it's side all day. 100acre had 26's on his and went over like 7 times. I'm at 55", been on my side once and damn near went over last time there if it weren't for my spare holding me up leaning against a tree. Depends on what conditions you're riding but going up and not out definitely doesn't add stability to these little machines.
I just hope no one reads that and takes that advice.

I am sure that the kind of terrain and speed do make a difference.

There's plenty of guys running 26x10-12 on all 4 corners without issue. I don't see why your tire choice would be any different.

I'm sure more knowledgeable members will respond shortly but, I'd be taking my business elsewhere.

Mike
I’m installing that setup tomorrow. From what I’ve gathered, if it does rub, it would be in very rare cases where you’re bouncing through a corner and really maxing out that travel (or lack there of).
One thing I thought of as soon as I picked it up, would be the consideration of running 4 of the same size tires all around. You’d have to get another 2 rims to match the rears, but I’ve always had a spare with my vehicles. I may just be playing it on the safe side though 🤷‍♂️

I'm a flatlander and have not had any tipping problems.

That's the determining factor right there. Just saw in the P1k threads where a guy put his machine on its side last night and they're at 63" stock, probably wider with mods. It just happens when you're in rough, rocky or rutted terrain. When testing the limits of these machines, their capabilities rest on how they're set up. You can't be wide enough.

I have 26 11 and 26 9 Artrax radials on stock rims . No rubbing at all. Very stable. Very similar to big horns.View attachment 361954
Very stable? Are you running spacers? Without spacers and 26" tires on stock wheels, it's only stable on flat ground. Many of us are running wide, I'm at 55", and still end up on our side. The P5 isn't that stable of a machine out of the gate so taking it up and not out just makes it worse. There are pages and pages on this subject throughout the forum as well as the stories and pics of guys that thought theirs was stable that way too. 🤷‍♂️
