Well I hope not being lost is as good as people say. Our Xmas present to each other is mapping. Just didn’t see what we wanted out of the IPad and we wanted this dedicated. Spent lots of time reading reviews and it seemed to be one of the best. We shall see

That would’ve been a big savings. I looked at features and one thing I really liked was how simple this set is, fully waterproof even while charging like the Garmin camera. It’s ready to go from key and one button push for record tracks or bring back home. It alerts you if you’re off track and upcoming way points and such. Lots of features that are simple enough for anyone driving. It’s got something like 160000 trails already loaded so hopefully at least a couple from around here. Finally found a good price so we bit

We’ve had a problem over the years with the speaker screws pulling through with all the bumps. Used double back tape then aggressive screws, should hold this time. These speakers have been in 4 Sxs’s and still working great so reused.

All pods were sealed to the roof from the inside with windshield urethane. Then flattop bolts down with rubber grommets at top with thread lock, lock washer and encapsulated nut at bottom. This is absolutely the lightest setup I could find to still have a good true speaker. Also sits against the roof tight so maximum headroom, we were able to offset these all a bit too for headroom. I like a speaker directly over the passengers.
