Welcome from Mississippi. If your only 50 yo I would say the Talon. Glad you weren’t hurt in the wreck.

We haven't pulled the trigger yet. Had a gal pull out in front of us in our new car. Been dealing with the insurance company on all that. Thankfully no one was hurt. Car totalled. Anyway, haven't picked anything up yet, but I have decided on the talon x4. I'm going for the sporty ride. Lol. I'm not dead yet, and still have a heavy right foot. Hope to be hitting the trails real soon. Thank you everyone for the help.
I think the Talon is more comfortable for long trails rides. The pioneer is very versatile and I have a 20 P1000-5. I cut wood, deer hunt, ride to the ice cream stand 7 miles away, ride the creek, and go to the trails in Tennessee every year. When we are on the trails in Tennessee I get around as good as anyone. I usually end up waiting cut the longer machines when I’m navigating. my wife has a bad back and she does ok all day long in the bench seat. We recently had all 3 kids home and we took a trail ride at local trails with 5 of us and 3 dogs. . A 4 seater Talon would have fit through most of the trails. I’ve upgraded my pioneer with new Aarms, rough country shocks because I didn’t buy model with Fox shocks 30 inch Terrabite with new 14” wheels. I ride with guys that ride Can am, razor,KRX, nice machines. I haven’t thought about getting rid of my pioneer. My wife doesn’t let me do real crazy stuff on the trails. If She did I might prefer the talon. If you can’t tell I'm a pioneer fan.

I agree with these guys and if I had it to do over again I would buy the model with fox shocks. My rough Country shocks are way better than the stock shocks but they aren’t close to the fox shocks.

I'll add this -
In extreme conditions, the Pioneer's full locking capabilities will go a few places the Talon won't (without abuse). But other than those few situations, Imma likin' the Talon, if for no other reason than the suspension.

Well folks, it's been a little while, but here it is. Finally pulled the trigger. Picked up a 24 xs4. Took it right out for a little cruise up to mooville, for a little ice cream. Wife really enjoyed driving it. Already have a rear box on the way, as with some side mirrors. I was already able to get a rear view mirror for it.

Nice rig!
Get yourself an intake snorkel ASAP for that thing in our state. The sandy trails are bad on that air filter and can do other damage.

Remington,
I've already been looking at one for it. I don't run water but definitely wanted it as a pre filter type situation. However, it appears as though honda changed the air intake on this one. Is it still a concern like the earlier machines?
