IMHO,
The 700 is perfectly adequate for farm/ranch work and comparatively inexpensive for the business to buy.
But….for fun, recreation and any kind of steep trail runs it’s the 1000 hands down.

Honda could make this a little tougher by...eeekkk!....UPDATING the 700 to something near its competitors. It's not a mid displacement competitor except on paper. It's more like a 500 Ranger (if those still exist) or something along those lines.

The 1000 is only slightly bigger on paper, but it's a noticably bigger machine in person. I like the 700 size better, but I'd probably go 1000 next time around, as they seem to have worked the bugs out of it now. An updated 700, however, would probably be my ultimate choice.
