Well yeah everyone. Theres 3 drain plugs. One is separate- very front is just for the gears. The other 2 plugs are for engine and clutches that share oil. Unless I'm reading your post wrong.

Just a little wrong. Lol

The sub trans is the front gear box controling P,DNRL. It should not mix with the DCT and Engine oil at all. I guess it could be possible with a busted seals but you would have bigger problems if that happened.

DCT and Engine share the same oil.

No reports of the sub trans and DCT/Engine mixing that I have seen.

I should have went into more detail my sub trans oil level will get low and my engine oil level will get high so my seal must be letting sub trans oil leak into engine oil

I assume you check your oil like it suggests, run it, let it settle then not screw it in?

That’s right just like the book says at one time I had to drain 1 quart of oil out of my engine and add 1 quart to my sub trans to get the levels right

Check the Sub Trans vent line to make sure its not stopped up and building up pressure. If anything I would think it would be the other way around, engine oil getting into the sub trans? Keep us up to date please!

I’m going to check vent line tonight and I thought it would be the other way to but it’s definitely leaking into the engine oil will let you know if the vent line is clear or not

If there was a problem I'd think it would be reverse. But hey, I'm no expert.

Don't just check the rubber hose, check the hose nipple on the frame, might have got welded up?

Better have a really good drill bit if the nipple is welded closed, welds are hard!

There has to be a place where the 2 are connected, and there’s a seal there, if the trans sits at a higher level when not running then the oil level on the engine, gravity could level the two out

My thinking, that would be a big seal failure and I would think the positive engine oil pressure would over fill the sub trans????????????????

Engine oil pressure isn’t squirted against the rear main seal of the engine in your Toyota, I don’t know for sure, just speculation. If the sub trans oil level sits at a higher level when sitting idle, fluid could transfer

I would guess that the place they meet isnt a pressured area, just a sump area and the oil pump pulling oil from there would suck the oil in.
