P1000 South Dakota Vacation Plans

We are planning a South Dakota(Black Hills) vacation for the end of September 2018. I am looking for advice for things to take along for possible emergency repairs? I plan on taking tire repair kits, gas can. tree saver straps, portable air compressor, small jack, but do you recommend anything else other than some tools? I have a 2016 P1000-5 and don't anticipate any problems but one never knows. We are staying at Mystic Hills Hideaway resort and would also welcome any suggestions for trails to take or sights to see..... Thanks

Couple spare tie rods, tools to change them, small handful of m6 nuts, bolts, washers. Couple chunks of wiring and crimps.

1st off you’ll like mystic hills, it’s a pretty good place to stay!

If you haven’t already make sure you get your trail permit before you arrive....if not, you can get trail permits at the Black Hills Visitor center in Rapid City along I-90...but it can be a pain.

A basic no-nonsense kit is all you really need imo. (Pliers, few metric wrenches, tire plugs and air pump).

Yep, I got mine in the mail in advance. Cheap too, seems like $20.00 or less for a 7 day permit.

Oh yeah, Devils Tower is basically outside the Black Hills and in Wyoming. But I’ve been to it three times now, as recent as June.

It’s 74 miles from Deadwood (a very cool old western town) to Devils Tower, and all secondary highways. I doubt you could do it on your SXS, but perhaps if you have it Street legal, liability insurance and it’s licensed in South Dakota you could. I guess you know you need a sticker from South Dakota to ride their off road trails.
