Soooooo any ideas why my airbox filled with oil?

Machine still at the dealer.

latest guess is close to 8k-$8500 to fix.

pretty pathetic dealer won’t even bother to guess when it will be fixed.

much less a firm price.

With supply issues, they probably dont have a good idea. Ive got a bike waiting on a fork lower for over a month now.

The price thing is something else, they should have an estimate by now, unless they havent torn into it yet.

Thats a stock filter, looks like possible overfilled oil, i had a less severe situation like this early last year.

Thats a stock filter, looks like possible overfilled oil, i had a less severe situation like this early last year.

Oil was checked before ride, not overfilled for sure.

If his filter was severely clogged (not known at this time) then the root cause might be the maintenance cycle for the filter. If not clogged then the cover o-ring not seated correctly? Since you are San Diego and I suspect the ride was the Ocotillo area (known extreme fine dust area) is it possible a severe clogging of the filter pulls oil out of the crankcase or breather? What I can tell from the image(s)...

Was it rolled during the ride or the ride before? My air boxed looked kind of like that after mine sat on its roof for a period of time...

I uderstand the filter was pulled the previous day and inspected and was fine, no dust or oil on the clean side either…Not Ocotillo

called them yesterday and the excuse was they didn’t have a “puller” they needed.

guy on the phone couldn’t tell me what “puller” they needed. 🙄

This kind of dealer makes me glad i sold mine as is when i realised the motor was dusted. They're only worth what they'll sell for that day, but we were out riding the next week. Hope your dealer comes thorough in the end, but it appears there have been some false promises told before now.

@Sheetmetalfab I am activly looking into lawyers that can assist me in a suit agenst R2C. When i find the right guy ill let ya know! I have at least 4 documented catastrophic failures as of today. Plus 4-6 that cought the problem before it damaged anything.
