The railroad bridge over Camp Grant wash.

Now down at the tracks checking out the old pit mine. This was...I believe, the San Manuel railroad. I don't think it's been inactive all that long...

Nearby, re-purposed tanker...

Concrete pads next to the tracks (and my finger)...

Stopped to top off the whiskey...

Another shot of Camp Grant wash and Dudleyville, this time on the other side of the San Pedro. That batten section trending upper right. I. That is Aravaipa creek, and the tall peak with barren rock sides in the upper left in where it enters Aravaipa canyon. A pretty spectacular place, if you'd like to google it...

One more for reference...

If you zoom in you can see the twin stacks at Hayden/winkelman. These are the same stacks I've often photographed from the old miner shack looking due east. I'm now pretty much due south of those, so that's a frame of reference as to where I am in relation to my favorite riding spot.

I had forgotten about the Romeo Fire. This burned last summer near Tecolote ranch, but didn't come all the way over to it. There is a little side trail that runs over near the Old Car I've posted a video of. About half a mile later I ran into the fire line, albeit in near darkness.

A wasteland.

The one plus of this thing is that a lot of stuff obscured by vegetation is now exposed. The small concrete post in this area is now readily visible, so I'd like to head back over to Grand Prize mine and see what was hidden in previous trips.

Oh...and silly me forgot to mention that the Camp Grant massacre, which (allegedly) occured near the area just across the river from the railroad bridge I posted earlier...

Be a great place to hangout on Halloween night...

What a read. Hard to believe people are capable of such acts and the easterners seemed entitled? Kind of reminds one of the current situation between both of our current political parties.

Damn, I did 87 miles and thought I was a super star - Camp is at the very top left

You're dealing with a lot of elevation change and more rugged terrain than I am. When I rode in Colorado, 75 miles was a long day. Central Wisconsin is flat to rolling hills. Often to get from one trail system to another involves riding on paved surfaces. Mileage quickly adds up at 55 mph.....:)

Well, except I'm in the desert right now but there's no pavement and 55 mph just doesn't happen. I think the Rockies just got snowed in for the season with the last storm that went thru there several days ago. :(

More of this - 😍

Awesome pictures. It’s amazing how fast the forest comes back to life after a fire. I’m not quite ready for snow yet!

This was a Big Ole NOPE for me, too washed out to take a chance, in at least two places, one right past that small rock and another ~30' past that. Both narrowed the trail a LOT and it was too off camber to take the risk. This trail didn't show on the topo and I really like adding tracks that aren't topo'd but either of those washouts could ruin my day -
