When I came up to this (from the bottom), the sun was directly in my face, the surface was in dark shadow. WTF, I'm in a Talon, let's doo this. Got my fronts over the top, spun a little and crawled right up. Talon don't need no locker.

I was following a Razor on portals but he wimped out and did a k-turn at the bottom of this.

I went back the next morning for photos.

Looking east, down Long Canyon; a spectacularly beautiful canyon but way too easy to be fun in a SxS.

Looking south into Canyonlands NP, where 'we' aren't allowed. :( I'm right on the boundry line and a bit SW of the top of Long Canyon.

These were taken on an extra bonus loop returning from Tenmile Canyon and the ridge beyond it. The desolation out here was palpable.

There were huge sections of slickrock and it was so far out, it got little traffic so no rubber leaving tracks; navigation was strictly following the GAIA GPS topo.

Really, there's a trail here ... maybe ... there better be, it's a looooooooooooooong way back ... a constant stream of mind games happenin' ... o_O

Bigness, desolation, trackless, topo dependent -

From the ridge beyond Tenmile, looking down at the trail I had just climbed up out of -

Thanks, JE - I simply can't get enough of this. SxSing has opened up a whole new world for me. I can't believe life could get this much better after aging out of dirt bikes. 😍

Are all those tracks from just this year?
No, '21 - '23. And why I love the GAIA tracking app, I've saved all of my travel tracks, including to Arkansas, Montana and Idaho - they all live in the app, seemingly forever (I'm paying $39, not sure if the free version will do that). Those tracks above don't include St. George (Sand Hollow) or any of Colorado.

I'm single (by choice), retired, found something I love to do ... and I do it.
x.gif
Although I have my favorite rides, it's my mission to keep adding new tracks, so I look for areas that I haven't ridden.

I wish I had this in 2018 when I drove 47 states in the USA including Alaska, 9 provinces, 2 territories in Canada and 38,295 miles over 7 months.
x.gif
This is all the tracks I've ridden/trailered since I got the Talon in February '20. (the Talon/trailer wasn't with me anywhere east of Denver)

Most of what I've done in Colorado '20 - '23, not including the Alpine Loop, off screen in the lower left.

Octillo in Ajo, Arizona. There were thousands of these getting ready to pop, I had to leave when they were just starting.

Exploring one of the creekbeds south of Ajo. I continued up this until I got myself into a 100 pt. Austin Powers K-turn.
