Is this something you can do? If so, this is my VIN 1HFVE06E5L4000590
If not can you tell me where/how to find out if I have an affected VIN? Thank you!

I can run it but not until monday, our dealer services are dead until then.

I'm not sure it's up to date yet though, mine was the same.....listed as "Potential Recall Issue"

I suspect they all say that right now. I'll do the inspection myself & if it needs repaired I'll probably do it myself, the part is less than $1.50. It'll be a good winter project.

any update on doing a self inspection with a borescope?
I am waiting to see if I get a recall notice, not all will require inspection as I understand it.

Had mine done the other day. Dealer only put 1 quart of oil back in so check you oil level when you get it back. Called them and they said they followed the service bulletin. Took them about an hour.

Got notified a week ago that my Talon is on the list. Guess I’ll try and get it checked out before the 7 day Alpine Loop run scheduled for the last week in July.

I got the recall. Took it to the dealer. Inspection done, no issue. Tech said they had done a bunch of inspections and all have been OK to date.

Honda issued a SAFETY RECALL on CERTAIN 2019-2020 Honda Pioneer 1000's and Honda Talon 1000's.
This recall is to inspect for a missing parking collar in the sub-transmission.

PROBLEM - It has been identified that a limited number of units were assembled with a missing parking collar. A missing collar could cause the machine to roll while parked increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

AFFECTED UNITS - Only CERTAIN units 2019-2020 are affected identified by serial number. ONLY a limited number of units will be missing this collar.

NOTIFICATION - Honda will notify all AFFECTED owners in April 2020 via mail.

SOLUTION - The solution will require disassembly of the sub-transmission to replace the missing collar.

HOW TO CHECK MINE - The full list is NOT available to the public. Dealers can check your S# to see if it is affected. The online Honda Recall database is not up to date.

Yes I received my notification for the recall in the mail and have set up an appointment it sounds like it’s only a few hours for the dealership to inspect apparently they use a scope camera and take pictures so that they can send the information back to Honda if no repair or replacement is needed of course I have to wait until August Which is fine don’t seem to have a parking brake issue at this time..

Few hours? More like few minutes, 20 in my case. I have a great dealer that dropped what they were doing in order to perform the recall inspection, with no appointment needed. I spent more time loading & strapping it down on the trailer than they needed to check.

I've received the notice. Any idea of what the repair will be if the collar is found to be missing? My dealer can't even install a hard top and windshield correctly not sure I want them working on anything major.
