Thought this Poll might be helpful for Manufacturing dependability or defects questions. Don’t include routine maintenance or accident/abuse repair cost. If you had a significant cost, the model year would be good to know, as well a type of issue, (engine, transmission, electrical, etc). 2017, no problems.

12/3/17... There are 895 forum members listed with P500s. (Thanks @Hondasxs)

Seal on rear end. Passenger side axle seal. Simple repair. Leaked water in since day 1. 2015. If my rear end gets any slack in bearing, or gets louder my selection will change to <$700 for a new rear end.

Mine is a 2015 model, bought in the summer of 2014, that I've got about 2000 miles on. I've spent way more on it than I want my wife to know about, but it's all been on accessories and things I've added on to it, nothing on it because of breakdown or defect. The only thing that's ever given me any trouble is the winch and that turned out to be a grounding problem.

Mine is a 16 I bought used in Mar 17, wasn't fast enough for previous owner. I don't ride a lot only around 350 miles on it but its all hills, red clay mud and sandy creek crossings. Except for cleaning sand and mud out of the front disks no issues at all.

Mine is 2017 only issue I had was front brake pads were gone at 798km. (496miles for my American friends) I ride in wet mud holes though. I replaced them with the MUV700 big red stock pads. Have just over 1200km on it now. (746mi)

I havent done the first repair to any P500 other than the formentioned seal leaks here and there and an axle boot cracked near the band. I have had 2 random starters that had the magnets come apart from the cases. This use to be a common Rancher problem, but it seems Honda has fixed that model. We also saw one where the 2 bolts holding the parking brakes mount on just fell out. Not sure how, guess they were just loose from factory.

This isn't surprising, they are really just a 2 seat Foreman, which is just a overbored Rancher and there rock solid.

I havent put a wheel bearing in any Pioneer (or Big Red for that matter), no ball joints either or a-arm bushings. Couple bent tie-rods (P1K) and few axles that have come part inside the boots.
