Overlanding trailer for UTVs

I've been reading but not commenting. Just my opinion that seems like a pain to attempt to pull or drag that on a ride. I could see it flipping on its side and being damaged limiting your machines ability along with other issues.

I don’t see how one can split the difference of tugging the trailer down the highway, and still having it survive a trail or vice versa.

The Boony Stomper* with (DOT) Tensor Regulators can be pulled on both the highway and the trail, has a base weight of 589 lbs…..

The last three videos that I posted we’re all of the same manufactured trailer. They just recently switched over to having larger tires and different wheels put on. You used to be able to buy it just as a skeleton trailer that’s the one that has the cargo box on it. Now you can buy it with the steel cargo box on it to put the tent on top. But all three of them are the same trailer.

Ah yes, that one has the best (second to the Boony Stomper) suspension of all I’ve seen….
And they tell me that the tent can be mounted directly to the box top which would lower the tent floor from where they have it in the pic above the rack…

I’m still waiting for them to tell me what the trailer weight would be with the two side boxes and rooftop tent with no other options…

Base weight was around 450. The roof top tent is kind of up to you on what you want. I have seen some less than 90 pounds or as much as 300. The boxes can't weigh that much, maybe 30 pounds each.

Having difficulty getting mama interested in tenting. She wants the Boony Stomper, so the order has been placed, color scheme to match the Talon. Delivery in 4-5 weeks. A road trip to Reno Nevada, which means a trip to Tahoe….👍

Thanks Rob, as you’re quite aware, it’s not an easy decision and hopefully ours is one we’ll be happy with. With all the options I added it will weigh 645 lbs. Among the advantages over the teardrop we’ve been using is the battery weighs in at just 8 lbs… verses the 70 lbs. of the lead acid deep cycle battery in the current trailer…also the solar panel is half the weight. All total before gear, the Boony Stomper is 165 lbs lighter than our current teardrop. With gear and fuel reserves, total weight will be 875 lbs……and the sleeping area is 8” wider..
