Mine runs more like a chainsaw centrifugal clutch. It winds up then catches. Is that normal?

Also, the new burnt smell wore off months ago. Now there is a smell almost like smoldering vegetation, but I can't find any debris caught on it. Any ideas?

It's not a long wind up. It catches quick, but it doesn't seem to be a direct link up like my truck.

Mine has very quick engagement. I mean whiplash type engagement. If you're having some slippage, I'd say that wasn't normal. But everybody's definition of slippage isn't the same so I don't know.

I'm having trouble selecting forward or reverse. It's like the clutch won't completely let go when idling. Also it takes a breath between gears under firm acceleration. Anyone else?

I don't think it's slippage. When it goes, it goes. It's more like the old timey cars at Six Flags.
