I'm in the same boat. Did just the rear and what a major difference! Got rid of the bucking and was able to use the entire suspension stroke. Haven't seen a need for the front.

That top picture is what mine look like with the spare mounted. No preload added. New rear spring are now on my list. Thank a bunch.

I had adjusted my preload after the first 1000 miles. They had sagged over an inch. The unit is a 2021 and we trail ride often. After another 500 miles the had sagged even worse. On the stock fox springs that is. The collapsed picture is just the weight of the machine.

I've got same issue on rear shocks and about to replace my springs.
would you all still go 300 # , step up to #350 or perhaps lighter?

Thanks for the insight and how to!
I’ve gone with 350# rear and 300# front. They’ve been on around a year now and I like them.

I went with the 814 three ways. The 350# springs on the rear were originally on the 814’s for the front and are 12” long. When I bought the 300# springs from Summit, they are 14”. If I ever decide to stick to the easier trails, I’ll probably go to 275# fronts and 300# rears. Dropping off of rock ledges and into rock gardens, I don’t want the shocks compressing too much. With all being said, yes, go with the 14”.

I have a pair of 14" 250lb 2.5" springs for sale if someone is interested. They were on my wildcat for a weekend and ended up being too stiff on the lighter machine.

I also carry more stuff than I probably need. Prepping for the AZPT ride will mean adding a spare tire rack and rotopax containers for fuel and water; more tools and parts and probably a passenger. The way I’m set up now with 28” tires, I can go anywhere the RZR’s running 30 and 32” tires can go.

I used the ratchet strap method. I tried using a compression tool but the one I had was too big to get in between the coils. I feel like the straps are safer too. It helps to have someone to help hold the shock especially when you're taking the straps off. But definitely doable by yourself

Here's my opinion on the 300 pound springs after one ride with them. I can't compare them to the progressive springs that come with the fox shocks because I never used them. I think the 300 lb springs will be good for me. I had 2 passengers in the back that are probably 350 pounds combined weight. Bottomed out the shocks a few times until I turned the shocks up to the firm setting. I haven't adjust preload yet but once I do that I feel like they will be perfect. If you will have more weight than that you might want to go with a little heavier spring. Most of the time I will not have that much weight in the back.

I was bottoming out the rear.
Fronts are still looking - working great.

Great work guys!
I went with 300lbs springs in the rear. I loaded up all my tools, spare tire and all the other odds and ends one carries with them. Ride was good but even got better when I added some preload. If I get lucky this fall I won't hesitate to try and stuff a elk in the back of my machine. I'll just drive to conditions.

I bought some EIbach springs from Busted Knuckle Off-road for less money than the same Viper springs. Talk with Trey if you call them. He is very knowledgeable and will ask you a ton of questions to help you make the right choice.
