I have been looking for a ready made solution to mounting a yeti cooler on a Packout base for some time without luck so I decided to come up with something on my own.

I found a Packout work top for $50 odd bucks so I figured what the hell. Well it wasn’t as plug and play as I’d hoped.

However, I have a few tools laying around so I decided to hack on it a bit. After some careful measurements I made my first cut only to find I’d cut the wrong corner.

But after a few more measurements, cuts and a little sanding I managed to make it work.

And that my friends is how the yellow tools made the red tool useful.

I had a few items laying around for a bit and finally got around to the install.

First up, since my 5’2” wife wears her harness straps like she is expecting a loop da loop at any second, I needed to move the SATV electric windshield button from behind the tablet mount so she could actually reach it without undoing the harness.

Considered converting everything to an auxbeam and was getting ready to pull the trigger when I found the dragon fire racing lower switch panel.

While it does block the lower cubby hole, she doesn’t like to use it because of the heat in there so no big loss. The hardest part was cutting a hole for the wires.

While I had the dash apart, I installed a kemimoto full dust guard to replace the 1/2 flap thingy Honda provides. Not sure how much it will really help, still plenty of room for water, dust, and heat to get through.

Wife ran through a soupy mud hole last trip and lost all headlights (just coated them). Just happened to be a night ride and she panicked a bit. So I picked up a light from the club store. Had to get longer screws to make it work with the HMF bumper but it looks clean. Honestly I doubt this would have helped her at all in that instance so I’ll probably add some cubes or another light bar across the roof.

I am sure the mud hole she decided to play in during the day didn't help much

Next time I'm around my rig I'll get you some pictures of the route I took for my light bar. Check out my profile pic. You can barely notice it up in there. I should be able to explain the process as it was really easy. On the front of the factory roof, on the drip edge, get some stainless washers and bend them curved so they fit down in the valley. Buy a curved 24-30" slim light bar to hang underneath. Buy high beam activated plug from club store. Go buy cheap black extension cord. Wire light to headlight plug wires.

Stays out the way of limbs also really sleek. You could go wider... Anything bigger/larger will make the roof unhappy and would be overkill IMO.

Another “issue” my lovely wife had last trip… We were stopped at a crowded spot after dark and she was stressing backing up without a reverse light.

So I ordered a 10” single strip light bar with talon specific brackets to fit between the bed and muffler. I also ordered the reverse light cable from the club store but I haven't committed to installing that yet. So for now she will have to push a button, poor girl.

I noticed the floor boards filled with water much quicker than in the P1K. Suppose it’s the great big holes in the floor board. So I thought I’d try the covers from 10-80 Dirt Sports. Install was easy and I guess we will see if they help or just hold the water longer.

They drain water just fine, but if you get a bunch of dirt/mud in there, you'll want to pop them out, rinse it all out, then put them back in. Otherwise, that mud will never flush out.

While I was waiting for the light bar to show up I decided to insulate the tunnel area some. Used some automotive heat material to line the top cover and the driver side panel. Passenger will have to wait until next time I drop the skid plate.

And since I insulated so well , I struggled getting the push pins to seat. Pneumatic rivnut tool to the rescue.

I need to update some wiring before I add any more electrical widgets. I think I'm pushing the 40a Turnpro kit I installed prior to TO. Have a Cole Hersee on the way to help clean things up a bit.
