I put spacers on mine and have never once worried about the stress on the wheel bearings.
If I do wear them out prematurely...oh well it was worth the stability.
If you go up, you should go out. As for bigger tires, I've never had a problem turning mine.
There you go. You know that the bearings may wear prematurely and you accept that. That's pretty much the way people handle risk assessment anyway. Just keep a close eye on lugs/nuts and tightness. I saw some pretty nasty AM wheel damage the other day from failed spacers.

I'm sure that's true, but bearing stress isn't the only reported problems people have had with spacers. Offset wheels are a better way to achieve a wider wheel base.

Agree'd.

I am an advocate of tall tires and 2" spacers. This is a vehicle with an average speed of 12 mph, the bearings will still outlive ANY Polaris wheel bearing by 100x. If your going to go tall, you'd better go wide. I am not an engineer, heck I have only been on three trains. ;-)

;) I think the approach of a person will "accept the consequences" is the best way to look at it. A engineering student could write a term paper on this topic and only scratch the surface. What happens when your 2 x 12 diving board gets longer but you still put the same weight on it? More defection and increased stress concentration. You are changing basically the bending moment as stress is applied to the bearing. But there are so many variables what works for one can be a disaster for another.

Wouldn't removing the sway bar put stress on the bearings? ;)
Removing stabilizer bar...
will cause you more problems
down the road...
sway bar...wat ever
some guys...will find out later
or sooner...
Rock crawling started the front
bar being removed...yrs ago
TO REMOVE A STABILIZER
BAR ON A TIPPY MACHINE
TO JOIN RANKS...WITH LOTS OF WEIGHT

The engineer had a little
Steel left...so they just
threw a sway bar on for
fun....
IT'S THERE FOR A SAFETY
REASON...SO FOR THOSE
WHO SAY REMOVING IT MAKES IT
MORE STABLE....

No, but it does have other associated risks. Which is back to my original point, we do what we do to maximise our machines to fit our personal riding styles, weigh the p and c and go on.

sway bar removal
makes machine
ride loose...
there is a note...
saying if you pack alot
of weight...it's not recommended
to remove..
LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE
...IS A GOOD SAFE RULE...

to remove a safety

selfish....no concern
of others safety
...IMO...

Unless it really does handle better. I honestly don't know as I've never tried it but a lot of guys on here swear by it.
Seeing how it is already a tippy machine, Honda may have put it on just to cover their ass.
From what I've read, they were originally put on cars for high speed cornering to prevent opposite wheel lift.
I could see the benefit if you were creeping on uneven terrain. I like to corner fast personally.
Once again...risk assessment.

Or ask a engineer
if it's safe
to me it's there for a
reason...won't trade
in me or my family's
safety...to join ranks
I've tip mine over
2 times with it on
.....
