P1000 Lost power steering cold weather

2020 Pioneer 1000-3
Took a 5 minute ride to the ice hut and then it sat for about 2 hours.
It seemed to start ok, but no power steering and the corresponding yellow warning light was on
The Pioneer had been stored in a garage on a trickle charger just prior.
Temperature outside was around -30 celsius but there was also a wind.
Is it normal to lose power steering in really cold weather? Anything i can do to prevent while out on the lake?
It is back in the garage on a charger so hoping everything is fine tomorrow.

If you get the flashing power steering light during start up, let the machine idle for several minutes to charge the battery. During cold start the battery drops below the minimum voltage to run the power steering. By running the machine for a few minutes you'll warm it up, warm up the battery and recharge the battery. Key off after a few minutes and restart. You'll have power steering again.
