I was in that area this past summer, just north of you in Lake City (our 3rd Vaca with the wheelers up there.) If you get a chance the Alpine Loop is incredible, there's a road you can ride on to the loop from Creede and then go to either Lake City or Silverton. It'd be about 100+ mile day though. If you go to Silverton there's a mine tour the Ol' 100, its a great tour, if in Lake City there's a Mine Shaft tour and exhibit just outside on the Alpine Loop. Have fun and keep the pix coming.

My buddy and I just installed two sets of these (2 wheels per set) for the 900 mile ride back home Saturday. I'll report back how they work but they look to be the best thing since free beer. Very high quality hardware and $72.00 to do all four wheels plus 48 bolts, lock nuts, and washers.

Well the wheel straps are the best money we have spent lately on the Pioneer. Just pulled the trailer 834 miles from Colorado and the straps never needed adjustment. They arrived just as tight as when we cinched them down. Very quick to use once they are installed. My wife drove part of the way coming and going and she said the trailer was much more stable with the wheel straps. The difference is amazing when you take sprung weight out of the picture.

Mule deer doe in the lower left picture in no hurry to get away. Got up right beside the trail.
Funny, I notice the same thing when I'm on my property in New Mexico. I'm use to the white tail we have here in eastern Oklahoma which are very skittish by comparison. Must be very easy to hunt mule deer. So are you back in the heat and humidity? I just returned yesterday afternoon and boy do I miss the Rocky Mountain weather!

Yep. Heats not bad but it was misting rain when we got here at 5 AM this morning. Must have been a ton of rain on our mountain while we were gone. The road into our cabin took a beating.
