P1000 Fuse Panel Help

When you snorkel under the hood what are you guys using to cover the old intake to attach your fuse panel to. Also do you remove the updated piece to get it to lay flat as well. Just would like some ideas as I am trying to finish this up today.

if you snorkel under the hood it attaches to the factory air intake as far as I know everyone leaves the cover off that covered the air intake
