Hi All,

I am considering purchasing a Pioneer 1000-5 and trying to figure out the best way for me to haul a trailer, etc. Can anyone tell me if a 1000-5 would fit on an 8' long flatbed truck bed? I see the wheelbase is 80" so it seems like the wheels would be solidly on the flatbed but without a sideview dimensional diagram it is hard to say for sure.

Thanks,

Scott

I've actually been thinking about this as well. But even though the wheel base is 80" the distance from the front bumper to the front wheel is the issue.

When you say flatbed, are you talking about something like this? 56607fd4bae454c0ab18dd11f9e14185
If so mine is a LWB truck and the bed is acually 9'6"

Yep, something like that. And yeah I realized flatbeds come in various lengths, would just like as short as possible. I don't have a flatbed at the moment but if I get a UTV I think that would work best for me and my family. I would trade my crew cab truck for a crew cab flatbed and then I could still tow my trailers. I don't like the other options like the overcab racks due to height restrictions and having that much weight up above the cab.

Looking at something similar to this:

We carried ours in the back of a 93 dodge cummins. The bed was 2 inches over 8 foot and the rear tires sat directly in between the box and the gate so several inches over 8

Thanks CumminsPusher, so sounds like if I could find something with around a 9' bed that would be about right.

Absolutely.

I'll be paying attention to this. I'm in the same dilemma myself.

I've got one somewhere of my P700 in the bed of a crew cab f250. It was tight, but got us to the woods.

I've got one of the 700 as well. But I agree it's all about getting there sometimes.

I hauled mine on a 8 ft long trailer, but I hung over in front and back. Measure from front edge of front bumper, to past center of rear tire, that would be minimum length. Also I would consider how your Going to load a 1500lb plus vehicle. A flat bed is going to be higher than a pickup. Me I'd use a trailer. JMHO

Nice to see a local member. You gonna get yours from Canyon Honda? I just got a 1000-5 with tracks. Needless to say I have to use a trailer. Once all this snow is gone (maybe July) I'm interested to see if it will squeeze into my long box with the stock tires.

I don't know about your state laws, but in some states you can get a permit to pull two trailers, like a boat or utv on a trailer behind a travel trailer.

That's legal in Idaho. If you don't mind being judged by people like me go for it........

I don't think it'll fit width wise in that year. Congratulations!! Glad to see the new rig.
